What are the odds Matt Flynn is released next year, and would you want him?

Im not sure how his contract is structured and therefore if this is a realistic scenario, BUT, If he was to be released if the Hags were happy with Russel, he' have to warrant a look

Eagles might release him, and he doesn't suck. His oline sucks

He sucks. Has sucked for two years. He is old. He is shellshocked. He is injury prone. Not to mention not a good human being.

Hell no to Vick, dude is regressing like crazy now. Yes, the Eagles have a bad line...so one can pretty much see how much worse he would be here

I like what I've seen from Flynn but it's not much to go on. More importantly, he seems tied to the WCO and that wouldn't really fit what Whiz seems to like to do.

If the Cardinals insist on keeping Grimm, the guy I think might pay dividends, even though he has also been a WCO guy, is Tarvaris Jackson. I'm not the biggest fan of running QB's but if the Cards want a running QB who can throw, I'd take a shot on TJ.

Jackson isn't a running QB and there is zero chance Flynn gets released ..... he has value both as a backup and a trade piece, his contract definitely isn't that heavy and seattle has cap space

I think Moore would be a good immediate addition for you guys and that could happen per the other thread

He rushed for 260 yards and 3 TD's in '07 for the Vikings in just 12 games.

Dude's a runner at heart and could use that as an asset for a team with a weak o-line. He isn't in the same class as Vick or even Newton but he's good enough at using his legs that he would help the Cardinals o-line. Plus, he's a good enough passer that he could get it to Fitz & Co.

Call him whatever you want, but that was my point. Runner, scrambler, whatever. He's certainly not limited to being a pocket passer.

No he sucks and I wouldn't want a person like him on the Cards. I don't care if he "did his time" he's still not someone I'd want in this organization.

Who cares what he did 5 years ago?

Guy is not a runner/scrambler or anything of the like ....... not even close

He is very tough - but you aren't going to design a lot of runs for the guy ...... he scores a TD every 7 starts over his career and rushes for about 10 yards on 5 attempts per game his career (that's if you allocate all of his stats into his starts and not the other 18 games he played in - so even those #s are a bit generous)

The guy has very poor pocket feel and often moves into pressure creating bad situations ....... he is athletic, big armed and tough - he just isn't a runner in the NFL - the instincts and understanding aren't there ........ his running production is pretty much on his best day on par with the guy he's currently backing up right now

He's not a statue - but negates some of his athleticism by freezing under pressure and then not understanding how to move within the pocket - for example, when the tackle pushes the end up field on a speed rush instead of moving forward into that void he'd often feel the pressure, panick and escape backwards - straight into the defender who was pushed beyond on the play

If you bring him in and expect anything more than a team guy who is very tough and can hold the ship and on a good day be neutral to it's outcome then you're going to be disapointed ......... if you bring him in and expect him to be a threat in the running game, you'll be disapointed

Skelton & Kolb have been more productive in the running game than Jackson an all 3 have frequently picked up their yardage the same way

You guys kidding me? You'd think Vick over Flynn?
He's a huge anchor on the Seattle salary cap as a backup. They can absorb it because Wilson doesn't cost them squat but they are a young team, should be thinking ahead on cap issues with their good defenders.
I hate to say it but I think if it's possible to get Flynn the Cards would be well advised to chase him.

I do not want Flynn, another freaking QB full of potential and a bunch of losses (another trade around cast off who never is what people think he could be)
I do not want Vick, guy has regressed so bad and his game is pathetic

Either you make a trade for someone like Phillip Rivers and give up a wealth of draft picks (sure he has looked ragged of late but I feel he is far from the crud Vick is shoveling)and Fitz's career will have hope along with wins

Or you do it the only way you can get a good QB, draft them and then apologize to the older guys on the team that they might never see the dividends because they will be past their prime when the young QB matures or worse...our scouting staff is unable to find or provide proper coaching for a young QB

There are few athletes I despise more than Vick. He may be better than the garbage we have but that isn't saying much.
