Pat Tillman: He Graduated Life With Honors and No Regrets by Rich Wolfe.

Very cool book, put together like a scrapbook, with many stories and remembrances of Pat.

In case anyone's interested: Copy on eBay

I'm about halfway through. I like it a lot.

They've just met the Turkish professor in Istanbul over dinner.

You'll like the parts where they are speaking in Bulgarian. The language is pretty close to Russian...I was like, "Hey, I know what that means!" :D

Just finished The Bourne Identity...pretty good read, and almost COMPLETELY opposite what the movie was about...it's not even close.

Reading the new Harry Potter now.

Mike

The Bourne series of books is fantastic...I disliked the movie because it was so different from the books. The movies are ok IMO now, after rewatching them, but I really wanted to see the book stories more accurately portrayed because they are great.

I agree. My dad has read the trilogy a few times, and he did not like the first movie, and I don't think he even saw the second one.

I bought him the fourth Bourne book - haven't heard what he thought of it yet. :D

Just read "Double Indemnity" by James Cain on two train rides on the way to and from work. Very quick read, and really good. I saw the first half of the old black and white movie a long time ago, thought it was an interesting story and so I picked up the book to read on the train.

I'm going to get "The Postman Always Rings Twice" by the same author since I liked "Double Indemnity" so much.

OK...I read The Washingtonienne this weekend.

Not really my kind of book, but it was a good change of pace, plus I am curious about anything related to Washington.

Are you talking about the girl who was sleeping around with house staffers and then writing in her blog about it? :biglaugh:

(not laughing at you... laughing at her)

Take History 117, History of England with Richard Cosgrove.

Oh and Krepitch, go to wonkette.com and see if you can find the Washingtonienne stuff. Here's the archive of her blog too.

I would recommend almost anything by Jim Thompson if you enjoyed Cain. Maybe start with "The Killer Inside Me."

Will do - I'm reading Hemmingways "For Whom the Bell Tolls" right now and the other Cain book should be arriving via amazon.com anyday now.

Just finished Putin's Russia. Very interesting.

Also, I will be taking a speed reading course over the next two weekends at ASU...so maybe I can keep this thread a bit more active. :)
