I recently got this audio book from the library. 38 discs!

It ought to take me several long runs to listen to this bad boy.

So, I was off a bit with my estimate of how long this would take. Started listening in July 2013 and just finished it Tuesday.

I got into listening to podcasts rather than books during my long runs and bike rides. I decided to pick this back up recently and I've been listing during my swim workouts.

It was a bit weird because they had a british person record the audio for some reason. Although, it was pretty funny listening to her accent when she got to ebonics and gangster rap.

Rereading the Four Hour Workweek. Feeling the need to develop some streams of passive income.

Is it worth reading even if I already seen the movie?

I would definitely recommend it. I still haven't seen the movie, but after seeing a few trailers I'd say the movie differed greatly from the book.

I want to find a book that is similar to Ready Player One. It doesn't have to be VR or pop culture based, but I just want a futuristic type book that is somewhat similar to RPO. Anyone know of one out there that they liked?

I haven't read RPO, but I really liked Lock In by John Scalzi and Artemis by Andy Weir.

Both are futuristic novels - mysteries set in futuristic worlds.

Haven't read it yet, but Ernest Cline did write another book after RPO. It's called Armada. Sounds a bit like a modern take on The Last Starfighter to me.

"The story follows a teenager who plays an online video game about defending against an alien invasion, only to find out that the game is a simulator to prepare him and people around the world for defending against an actual alien invasion."
