Needing a change from classical, I pulled out Kid A by Radiohead -- good lord, that is a fantastic album. I was blown away when it came out, but haven't played it in a couple years. Also stuck the Nirvana remastered compilation CD in -- forgot how much I loved Nirvana, too.

Good stuff man!

I have been on a kick lately with "Ok Computer." It was the same thing, I had a disk in my car with WMA's of a bunch of albums and I just happened across it, and realized how long it had been since I heard it. I dig Radiohead. :)

The Queers.

Always good choices. Everytime someone brings up The Queers it reminds me of this day my junior year in high school back in 1995 the day after a Queers show and 4 people ***** a shirt they purchased that said "Homophobia is Queer" and all of them were forced to turm them inside out. It caused a big old issue since it was not vilolating the school dress code, but there were several gilrs with not enough clothing on and nothing was said. I believe someone lost their job over it.

Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and........... NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK (their latest two singles are guiltfully awesome)

Is it guiltfully even a word? Yikes.

I think "Rise Against" is by far the best band out there right now, probably becoming my favorite ever right now.

What is amazing about them I can randomly listen to pretty much any of their songs and it will be a great song. There aren't really bad ones that I would skip.

I cant really decide what is the best.... The Good Left Undone, Give it All, Swing Life Away, The Approaching Curve, Blood to Bleed, Behind Closed Doors, Paper Wings, Drones, Survive, Prayer of the Refugee, Heaven Knows.... All awesome..

With all my other favorite bands like Rage Against the Machine and other stuff, there are always songs that clearly stand out and some who aren't really worth listening too.

Other bands I have been listening to lately are Breaking Benjamin who are rather similiar to Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, Boysetsfire, Dogwood - Conscience in a Cave and of course some of my long time favorites RATM, Pearl Jam, Millencolin, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pennywise, At the Drive-in, Disturbed, inFlames, Soil and some HipHop namely Mos Def most of the time.

How's the music scene over there in Germany? Two German bands I listen to a lot are Wizo and Oxymoron. I need to pick up some Die Toten Hosen, I love the song, "Hier Kommt Alex."

I dont care much about german music to be honest.

Guano Apes is/was the only really good german band as far as I am concerned, english vocals, and some big hits.

"Die Toten Hosen" are one of the Bands I don't like at all, exactly like "Böhse Onkelz" which are often linked with Nazis because some of their songs deal with nationalism and stuff I guess, never listened to them because of that.

I guess mm "Die Ärzte" ("The Doctors")is ok, it's a german Punkrock Band with a huge fanbase.
"Wir sind Helden"("We are Heroes") is ok.
"Sportfreunde Stiller" is ok.
"Xavier Naidoo" is ok but a totally different genre (soul).
"Silbermond"(Silvermoon) the only german band I have really listened to in recent years.

The rest is pretty much garbage in my opinion except some good german hiphop groups and I have no idea about non-popular bands. The ones you mentioned I have never even heard of.

Really Germans have terrible music taste in general. Our version of "American Idol" is terrible but Germans love cheesy pop music, techno and wannabe german ghetto rap with very sexual lyrics or cursing for some reason.
Although the latest "Idol" was a Rock/Punk guy they now have him performing cheesy songs for the fanbase of 7-14 year olds or 30+ I guess.
I think the 2nd winnder of Idol was even a Metalhead with long hair and beard and stuff but he never really got into the charts at all after he won and other than that we usually have weirdos being fan favorites either "metrosexuals/homosexuals or even transsexuals" who can't even sing at all but have some unique weird character..

Besides that we have a bunch of other cheesy casting shows for girl bands, boy bands or even musical singers.

I guess I really like the message from Bands like "Rise Against" and I don't really see any german band that has something like that since Germany was united.
I guess there weren't too many controversial topics that get people upset over here compared to the US where many are upset with the wars, Bush, death penalty and wildlife preservation and stuff like that.

German bands lack passion, attitude, aggression and message I guess that turns me off.
The only ones who had some of that had a bit of success internationally ( Guano Apes and Rammstein).

Although you could make a case for "Die Toten Hosen" and "Die Ärzte" having some of that in a few of their songs, there is just something about these bands that makes me dislike them a lot.
