Did you just name a bunch of people we would never sign then quote yourself to prove your point?

No. I just went over to hoopshype, click "free agency", it is the list.

I wonder if the Suns are looking at available free agents. It appears other teams are taking a look. I've never seen Sims play, so I'm leery about counting on him. If the Suns are going to keep him they should at least see how he plays in game conditions. If they are afraid to play him, they should still be looking.

Courtney Sims is not listed as being on our roster... not listed as an NBA player on ESPN either. I thought I saw him suited up Friday night... at least he was sitting near the players, though I don't recall for sure that he had a uni on...

As I recall I seen him suited up today. I think he played during the last couple of minutes.

Mikki Moore wants to play someplace he's needed according to the quote at the link Mainstreet posted. We certainly have the need and since he was bought out, he should be within our price range. He's a fair defender and rebounder and he can run the floor... what the heck are we waiting for? With Grant Hill ailing and probably needing to give his foot a rest, its doubly silly not to bring in a guy with some size. I like the idea of Dudley getting some minutes but he's 6'7, 225 so he's not even a big SF.

Checked the box score and Sims did play 2 minutes today. He's listed as 7', 245 so he's big enough. I've yet to watch the game... anyone see anything to like about him?

the fact that other, more competitive, teams want him as well. why would he come here and certainly not do anything in the playoffs when teams like boston and cleveland are ready to welcome him with open arms?

The attraction of being a starter on the Suns is attractive for a player that wants to prolong his career.

starting to prolong his career? That's pretty flawed logic. if he wants to prolong his career, why wouldn't he accept 10-15 minutes a game (sometimes more) from a contending team? That's less damage to his body, and a better chance of winning. That's how you prolong your career. You don't start at PF for a running team and tire your body out, especially when it yields a 0% chance of winning a title.

But we need him the most!

Actually, for most players, running takes less of a toll on them than banging around in the half court. In Mikki's case I'd bet that is certainly true, as he's thin as a reed. Probably the perfect exercise regimen for him as he heads into middle age.

This isn't some accomplished, worn-down veteran like PJ Brown. This is a career journeyman who would probably value the large role that the Suns could offer him.

It is very unlikely the Suns sign a big man like Smith or Moore. It would take more than the minimum to sign them and the Suns aren't going use the MLE. Amare is done for the season so even if the Suns make the playoffs they aren't going anywhere.

Moore has cleared waiver for a few days, but still waiting. I'm not sure he is attracting a lot of offers from contenders. Boston just lost KG for a few weeks, if they want Moore, there is no point for them to wait.

Again, I'm not sure Moore fit here, but our choice is damn limited. We lost today while Houston and Portland won.

Well the Suns need to take what they can get. I don't know why the Kings let him go He was always good against the Suns. If he went to Boston he would be behind Davis and Powe. If he came here there would be instant playing time an he can fill a huge need and it would help him get a new contract somewhere. Is there any chance Courtney Sims can play?

I just checked the link skywalker gave - Moore doesn't clear waivers until tomorrow so he hasn't signed with anyone yet.

It sure helped TT earn a good contract after a partial season with the Suns and he played all three frontline positions for a running team. The whole idea is for a player to increase his market value. A chance at being a starter on a potential playoff team gives a lot of opportunity to shine.

Why is it so hard to understand that running is less tiresome than grappling in the post? Especially when your opponent is stronger physically. Grant Hill wanted to come here and play for DA because it would be easier on his body, is he an idiot or something?

If he wants a ring, not much chance here in PHX, a long shot for sure.
