I am sitting here alone in my apartment, drinking Kiltlifter and watching two football teams on TV that I hate. My hyperness and disappointment is not subsiding.

A nice hot shower.
A hour (or three) of causing terror in GTA4.
Sleep.

avoid sportscenter/nfl network at all costs
watch cheesy tbs or tnt movies that I have on DVD anyway
watch the office
come to asfn and casually peruse the threads, sharing in the misery
basically avoid thinking about football
sleep

I don't know why but I hate to watch football after the Card's lose. If we had won today I would watch the entire game tonight. This loss is worse because it takes the luster off of clinching last week.

I TiVo every single Law and Order episode (except for Criminal Intent) and watch a few episodes. Then afterwards, I go take my aggression out at the gym. Then sleep.

Were not as good as we thought we were last weekend and were not as bad as we think we are this weekend.

Sandwiching two horrendous beatings by decent teams on the road and at home around one good thrashing of Hellen Keller's fab 22 in our house leads you to this conclusion?

I'd say that the fact we lose to anyone with a whiff of decent in their blood was a sign we're a one dimensional sad sack bunch of lucky division winners.

I went for a 3 mile run, faster than usual. It was either that or start drinking.

I hold my 6 week old son and it all seems meaningless after that. Cheesy but true.

Half-EMPTY or Half-FULL??

It's ALL perspective! IF we WIN I smile MORE and will listen to MORE NFL Network, etc. LOSE and I'll avoid it like the plague. Over-all I tend to evaluate where we stand. FACT: We WON the WEST. FACT: We're in the play-offs and BETTER yet have a HOME game. UNKNOWN: How we'll do in the play-offs is yet to be known. To me Life is too short to be miserable about ANYTHING! ...And when all else fails--COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!! Tonight I have a roof over my head, I enjoyed pizza for supper, and now I get to sleep in a nice, warm bed. ...AND did I mention we BEAT the BIG BAD COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

My two sons and I did burn outs on pushups after the game. We usually use the Cards as a work out for 3 hours... sit ups during commercials, pushups for each (cumulative) point scored and lunges for each bad guy score. Our hamstrings will be sore tomorrow!

Go for a run.

Do something non-football related.

Not too much to do after a bad loss. It is about 7pm after the game here on the EC, so I usually just get ready for work.

Plus I had an extra 2 1/2 hours to deal with this loss since after Boldin's fumble I knew the game was over. I knew even the blocked FG didn't matter, since the offense and special teams didn't show up today.

Turn the tv off at half-time, read a good book, talk with the wife or walk the dog. If it's a sunny day with no wind, go swimming in a local outdoor heated pool. I no longer take the game of football as seriously as I did years ago. Life is far too short to allow one sport or one game to affect your life negatively.

Agreed.

Giving my heart and soul to this team ended after the Bears game last year, and this year (with the way things are in the job-world) has helped me put things in perspective even more.

The only thing I did different is that I kept the TV and game on. But I ate dinner, talked to the wife, had a caucasian, combed out the cat, relaxed, and only listen to the game more than I watched it.

After the Boldin fumble I knew it was over. Cursed a blue steak for about 15 minutes, and went on with my day like there wasn't even on game on this week (and that wasn't too far from the truth).

What are you gonna do?
