I really want to see our defense step up tonight vs the run. Oakland is a very good at running the ball and this will be a good test.

I want to see our first string offense open it up just a bit and let Leinart air out a couple deep balls. I want opposing teams to have to prepare for that.

I want to see a effective running attack open up because of our air attack.

I'm in the Leinart corner and I don't want this to turn into a QB debate. God knows there are plenty of other threads for that. However, something deep down inside of me thinks that if Leinart REALLY lays an egg tonight , Whiz is going to start giving this situation a second thought. Let me repeat. Leinart would have to look simply terrible for that to happen.

Oh, one other thing. No injuries.

I want to see 3 things.

1st - No Injuries, no matter how well we play the game will be a loss if we lose a contributor.

2nd - A consistent pass rush - If we can generate pressure while vanilla, just think of what Clancy will be able to do.

3rd - Leinart repeating game 1. By most accounts he will be facing the heat against a non-vanilla defense; if he can hit the checkdowns consistently and move the ball forward against a real defense, we won't care if he is airing out or not.

Improvement from the OL. I have not been impressed with what I have seen from this group. I hope Elton Brown can come in and play more efficently than Lutui.

Reminds me of my dreaming in 1st grade that Meredith Howe really liked me best and not Rob Tate. Alas, that was just another dream that never came true.

Either that or Lutui finally realizes his job is in jeopardy and responds with a great game.

Whiz had some good things to say about Branch and he's going to get some time with the 1st team tonight. Lets just hope the switch stays ON for the next 10 years or so.

No injuries
DRC breaking up a pass
Alan Branch moving forward
4 penalties or less
Rookies Cambell,Iwebema,Highsmith and Harrington making plays
No long drives against the defense
Dirk averaging over 45 yds per punt
Smart play by #7
Boldin playing like he cares
Doucet making 3rd down conversions
100+ yds rushing

No injuries of course, with another road win, that would be huge,. I know Matt needs a good game, but its good to get these out of the way to see who will lead our offense.

I want to see 5 penalties or less...this would be a good follow up from last week.

Not so well. Not to state the obvious, but Leinart isn't doing much to earn the starting job.

When has he earned the starting job...ever?

Wow...completely shocked. I thought Leinart was a can't miss coming out of college.

Excuse time is over. This may be the best he has.
