A kid who gets booted from his team due to many many many failed drug tests is, by definition a me first kind of guy. Thank god he has apparently put that in his past.

Not really. It just means he liked to smoke pot.

I will bet my house we either go QB or LT in the 1st round of the draft. I know some of you guys don't want to talk about the draft this early but reality is we are not very good and we are rebuilding, so why not? We have holes everywhere.

LT because Bridgewater/Mariota will be gone. Hundley is a project so I think he cones back for his junior year. Boyd makes questionable decisions and has terrible footwork.

Take Kouandjio first and trade back into round 1 and take Derek Carr.

I can get on board with taking kouandjo in the first round but I don't like trading back into the first round because you are really sacrificing the future for usually a flawed player

Seriously, I'm not really sure why people are jumping off the boat right now. I thought this would be a five-win football team, but they might be a 7- or 8-win team when all is said and done. If we beat Atlanta, Houston, and Jacksonville, people are going to be booking tickets to New York for early February.

This team is just clearly outclassed by two of our divisional opponents, and about on the same level as the other team. Unlike Kolb/Skelton/Lindley, Palmer isn't getting worse every week; he's dependably average to below-average. You can work with that for a season.

This draft is going to look very different if we're drafting 14th instead of 7th. It's still way (way way) too early to tell where this team is going to end up.

I agree completely with this.

However, I am of the heavy opinion that we will beat the Texans, beat the Falcons and then lay an egg giving Jax their first and only win of the year.

Cyrus K right now is projected as a right tackle in the NFL he's kind of been a disappointment for all the talent he has. Anyone watch the kid from miami Seantrel Henderson? 6'8 340lbs. All kinds of talent but some legal troubles.

If not Bridgewater I want the local kid Taylor Lewan he's just mean

As for Johnny Football, I like a lot of what he does and am scared to death he will be a massive failure if we draft him.

IMO, he's either going to hit hard in the NFL, or bust hard. No real middle ground that I see. Boom or bust, that's him. Can we afford another first round QB bust? Yeah, uber douche, but if he booms, he will be special.

Lewan would be just what the dr. ordered.

Plus, the dude is cray and would add some fun to the Oline. He and Cooper would be a load.

Make it happen, Keim! :)

I will be happy with either QB or LT. Mariota or Lewan to be specific.

Quick, name all of those guys we've drafted in rd 1 since 1988 which is 25 years? :mulli:

Leinart.

Bust.

We have to hit on a 1st round QB. If we draft Johnny Football, he's got a high bust potential.

And again, we will be picking in the middle of the round, not up in the top 3.

Every time there are elite QBs that are "sure things" we are a middling team. We were in the running for Andrew Luck, and then ran off a meaningless 7 win streak to go 8-8 and get a middle round pick. The Cardinal way.

Which is exactly my point. Drafting 1 QB in rd 1 in 25 yrs & expecting to have a franchise QB or stability at the position is ridiculous...You have to roll the dice to get one.

This team has to somehow trade up at some point in the next 2 yrs to potentially acquire that guy or continue to struggle in mediocrity at best. Keim should identify the guy he likes & trade the necessary picks to get that guy or join the unemployment line. Harsh, but the reality of it.

Giving up 3 1st rounders or whatever is damn well worth the price if/when you hit on that QB!!! Without one, consistent winning never happens in these days of NFL football

I've been saying if ever there was a year to roll the dice and give up the house its this draft. Time to do an RG3/Ricky Williams deal. You can have my entire draft for your #1 pick. Next year will be Jonathan Coopers rookie year aswell as Alex Okafor since both are out for the season.

It would be like having a draft
Round 1- Bridgewater/Mariota
Round 2- Jonathan Cooper
Round 3- Alex Okafor

Holy ****. If ever there was a year to roll the dice its this year

I don't disagree...but the QB or LT needs to be lock, stock and barrel blue chip kind of guy. No swing and miss if you draft one every 25 years.

That is exactly how I feel about Manziel. He is a risk, but he just has a knack for making plays. If that transitions to the NFL you build a line around him. Very scary but intriguing proposition. Does he go in round 1?

+1.

Though I enjoy reading about draft stuff at this time.

There was an awesome prospects thread rolling around on the board earlier this season that was a good read

I haven't seen Kouandjio projected as a RT. When you look at his size, reach, and athleticism, he's perfectly suited for LT in the NFL.

As for Henderson, I hadn't heard of the legal issues but he he does he personal issues, mainly his dad. I know his dad was trying to parlay Sentreal's playing ability into creating a rap career for himself and has made many poor judgements on Sentreal's behalf.

Talent-wise, Henderson is as good as anybody. I think he's had some health issues as well.

It only takes one. Sets you back years and years and years.

With that mindset the Cards will never have a QB or never win jack squat. You guys should just quit bitching on Sundays & accept being happy with 5-11 football for eternity. ;)
