Here is a link to Madden 2004 that ranks the teams.

http://www.maddenmania.com/features/teamratings04.shtml

These are not set in stone, and hopefully will change. WE ARE NOT THE WORST TEAM IN THE NFL. By far! Anyway what does a bunch of Computer Science people know about football ?

We have a message board here with lots and lots of opinions. The best thing about Madden is the edit or create a player. That allows you to configure anybody you want. You can make Lenard Davis your starting running back and change his speed rating so that he is the fastest guy in the NFL. You can put Gramatica at free saftey and change his stats so he is a powerhouse.

Most people like me would rather get the right rating for the right player. The Madden guys try threre best but do not get it right. Last year Josh Schobey was rated higher than Marcell Shipp.

I invite anyone to put a player up on this board so that we can rate him accordingly. If will give us something to do till the season.

I have Madden 2002.... I created a Shipp, and he was a 79. High acceleration, high break tackles, relatively low speed. He was actually quite effective, and played similiar to the way he really plays.

Start.

I bet they put Marcell Shipp as VERY underated.

Someone proven like Emmitt Smith is rated almost flawlessly. So I figure you first look at Smith's rating in Madden record it down, and then use it to rate Shipp.

I do this because Smith runs in a very similar style to Shipp. They both preferr to run straight and powerful. They don't cut much. They have great acceleration. But I think Shipp is faster than Emmit and Emmit is stronger than Shipp.

So thus you would rate Shipp accordingly.

This little method is harder to do for people that you never get to see play. Who would you compare Boldin too? Al Toon ?

So did I. You have to create him cause he was not on '02. At first I had fun with him and made him unstopable. Then I got him to an 82. Cause the man can catch pretty well.

Blake is always rated low. I bet Blake will be lik 75 and Plummer will be like 83.

I will probably use Hines Ward as Boldins model.

Amazing agility, excellent blocker, great hands, good awareness, and decent speed.

BEFORE you start a season/franchise. Go to Rosters. Then there should be an edit option that lets you edit people.

YOu can also create your own player. HEHEHE

You have to create a custom roster and edit players there. You run the game play from the custom roster.

Question:

When creating your own player is the 99 speed of a 160 lb'er different than a 99 speed of a 350 lb'er?

Nothing that is the beauty of it. THat is why it is a video game, too. And yes he does dominate everything.

Take that same build and make him a RB...it is just comical to see him bust every tackle on him way to the endzone.

I used to run the ball on kick offs back to the 1 yard line and then bust a 99 yard run :D

The Sporting News Draft section lists the Rookies and matches a Veteran who the Rookie play like; Calvin Pace DE NFL player comparison= Michael McCrary Ravens.

Here are the Cards rookie veteran comparisons
Calvin Pace DE= Michael McCrary DE Ravens
Kenny King DE=Renaldo Wynn Redskins
Gerald Hayes LB=Marvin Jones Jets
Tony Gilbert LB=Earl Holmes Lions
Lorenzo Diamond TE=Jermaine Wiggins TE Panthers
Bryant Johnson WR=Armani Toomer WR Giants
Anquan Boldin WR= Hines Ward WR Steelers
J.P. Comella FB= Mack Strong FB Free Agent
Reggie Wells OT= no comparison listed

Not perfect for creating the new players but a decent starting point.I always reduce all the rookies awareness down to 50 if i have to create the player.Hopefully this will help out somewhat. Can`t wait until new Madden comes out in August.
