What happened to O Line?

The AZ Republic had a big article about how we would be running more. From what I saw, the O line utterly failed to block for James. The O line has clearly been a huge problem the last few years. Supposedly with Grimm, this year would be different. What happened?

Haven't watched the tivo yet but from live action it looked like Wells couldn't block his guy on running plays. Saw a lot of #74 standing next to the pile looking down, which is usually a good indication the olineman doing that missed his block.

Someone pointed out also that they weren't using the FB as a lead blocker.

not just that but warner had to rush a lot of throws. I watched some of the pitt game and It seemed like they blocked much better then.

Seems like the offensive line started to struggle when ... gasp ... Levi Brown went down.

No it was when Johnson came back and Sendlein quit playing center. :D

First game the line truely struggled. Not sure why. But they still did not give up a sack in this game even though Warner was pressured several times.

I think they need to get Levi back at RT. They ran the ball so much better when he was in there. He also protected Warner better when he was there.

I was thinking the same thing.

What happened to the Oline ?

What happened to our running game ?

Why can't our WR catch anymore ?

Why does our offense suck so bad ?

Thats what I was wondering. We brought in this blocking FB yet our TE beinamen(sp?) is back there in that role just as much as Smith is? Plain old Dumb.

Seidlein (sp) was MUCH better than Johnson, making the most of his opportunity...why we do not run the 'no huddle' more is the biggest question... why wait until we are down by 2 TD's to try it? If this is KW's strength... why do we not mix up the sets to keep the D off guard... especially when we are going three and out OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER for 3 quarters? Yesterday's game was HORRIBLE in so man ways it is hard to explain... after the BYE week? Expect to see lots of tickets back up on Stub Hub or Craigslist this week and MORE Lions fans...THIS was going to be one our "sure wins" on our EASY SCHEDULE...and on top of this dismal OFFENSIVE display... AP sets an NFL rushing record on a team that has ZERO threat as a passing team!

That's why Whis is getting $2.5 million a year, and we are not.

It is bizarre that he uses is so sparingly, when it's the only offense that's seems to be effective on a consistent basis. Why not come out of the locker room with guns blazing and make the OTHER team play catchup for a change? I would think it would be easier to establish the passing game thru the no-huddle, THEN establish the running game with the opponent back on their heels. Instead we come out in the regular offense, and struggle until the fourth quarter.

I expect a lot of teams to start using the Tampa 2 defense against us. Both Tampa and Washington used it, and neither Warner or the coaching staff can seem to figure it out.

That's because for some reason we've stopped being able to run the ball effectively.
