HOLY CRAP IS THIS BS. You obviously DON'T live in LA because EVERYONE out here was making excuses GALORE during the first 4 games of the OKC series. Hell, even KOBE made excuses as to why he didn't play well in the first round to Craig Sager when he said "he's not playing on one leg anymore".

Jesus... Laker fans are so ridiculously myopic. Their own players can LITERALLY use injuries as excuse and they still won't admit that they have.

Oh please. Everyone. Half the fanbase hates Kobe anyway, or hates Pau, or hates Bynum, or hates Phil. It is practically impossible to find a group of them that feel the same way about much of anything.

Kobe has complained about his legs, but that's not "the injury" that he has. His finger is, and he continually shrugs it off. His legs are tired, and he doesn't like to admit it but after rest, he has much better lift. His knee and ankle didn't get miracle cures during the long rest between OKC games 4 and 5, but his old legs sure did.

Only thing I've heard is "Kobe's old...he's old and washed up." And that sure wasn't remotely covered like Elbowgate was.

How is it that so many of this forums old school LAKERS fans are also AZ Cardinal football fans? What happened there?

The part of us that feels bad for winning all those titles pulled us to the Cardinals. Yin and yang. Pride and punishment.

who's talking about the fanbase? I'm talking about the media... Plaschke, Hartman, Vic The Brick, John Ireland, Spiro, Michael Thompson, even Marc Heisler who's usually not so homerific.

it was here in LA. Believe me, I had to listen to every ridiculous second of it.

Tell that to the kissyfaces you made at me during the Super Bowl. We were minutes away from an embrace, and you know it.

:mulli:

then... yes... but for the next three weeks, you are my mortal enemy. I already want to kick my roommate in the nuts and we've got a full week to go before this even starts and the REAL smack talk starts.

I'm loving this. All year long I've heard the national media hype the amazing depth of the Cavs(even before the Jamison trade) and Mavs while most pundits said the Suns lacked the depth to compete with the top teams.

Oh, the LA media. They are obnoxious in the first place. Feelin' YOU! Hartman made no excuses, I'm sure...probably had Kobe retiring tomorrow. Vic probably made some wild correlation between Kobe and Ghengis Khan. Thompson homored every comment. Spiro and Ireland would spin excuses. Plaschke I can't believe would make injury excuses, but I did read his column where he said that he was wrong and Kobe isn't to be left for dead.

Bottom line, the LA media are a bunch of clowns. I pretty much only put stock into Kevin Ding at the Register and Lazenby's blog. Everyone else slings the crap hoping ESPN will notice them and whisk them away to glory like Adande.

What's really awesome is that it seems like Shaq for Nothing trade worked out really well for the Suns. :D

you know what would be just the greatest ending of the season/off-season of all time? The Cavs get their asses kicked out of the playoffs... the Suns knockout the Lakers and win the title. Then, Jerry Buss tries to cut Phil's paycheck... Phil makes overtures to NY, NY fire DA and Phil goes there in a package deal with LeBron and Bosh and they end up winning titles from here to kingdom come.

We'd get our title, Kobe would never get another and DA would have been played as the biggest fool in the history of basketball.

Thats nauseating.

oh trust me... it's getting MUCH worse by the day. Today two morons on the drive home show talked about how the Jazz will have given the Lakers a tougher time than the Suns when the smoke clears.

they're already talking about Orlando out here.

Eh, you'll have your hands full with Laker trolls soon enough. I might stop in to rub it in/give you some props from time to time though. But ya'll get waaaay too emotional about the Suns...it's a little scary, like stuck on a singles cruise with momma from throw momma from the train kind of scary.

Yeah it will be funny if the Suns make it to the Conference finals and Shaq doesn't.

I bet in retrospect though the team regrets not using Wallace's or Pavlovic's contracts to add another piece. Seems like they put some thought into it but determined the team wasn't close enough to contending.
