If he can continue winning his one on one matchups is passing situations, then our defense will take another huge step. Right now it seems like we struggle to generate a rush with 4 rushers, but if we can get pressure with Acho, Campbell, Dockett and Schofield it will be huge.
Acho has been quiet lately too. When all 4 are on point, I expect big things
Too much ballet dancing & twirling vs. the run.

Too much lunging to make the big hit instead of breaking down properly and wrapping up.

PP21 isn't as good as he can (& has to) be.

Even A-Dub was in the wrong place at the wrong time occasionally.

On offense, I saw a lot of #71's back (that be Colledge) as he repeatedly jogged after the action or was standing around after a play.
I always liked Colledge. I thought he got a bad wrap on this board. Him and Sendlein are the only 2 worth a **** on the line right now

I don't know how many times I bitched about PP21 missing a tackle or being too far off his man in coverage. And, he has yet to make a single INT in the NFL where he makes a sharp break on the ball an beats a WR to the spot of the the throw. That's the type of plays ELITE CBs make. All of PPs ints are tipped balls or throw-it-deep-what-the-hell-good-as-a-punt type of throw.

Sooner or later, he needs to jump an out route and take it to the house rather than being three yards from the guy making the catch and then bouncing up and complaining about being shoved to hide the fact he was beat.

:biglaugh:

He has 3 picks in 6 games and has not given up a TD (IIRC). Come on

I'm not saying he's BAD, not at all. He's NOT elite. Opposing QBs do not avoid his side of the field, he is just as likely to give up a play as make one. CJ Spiller is a good back, but he flat out had PP21 picking up his jock twice today after total whiffs.

These things happen to CBs, it is probably the most thankless and difficult position to play in the NFL. PP21 DOES NOT SUCK, please do not put words in my mouth. I will say he is not elite, YET, no matter how much Deion jocks him. I watched every play Aeneas Williams ever played for the Cardinals, and PP21 leaves more space between himself and the guys he is covering in one game than Aeneas would in 7 or 8 games combined.

Ok so pp is not hall of fame worthy. He is a damn top cb in this league. Name 10 corners in the league you want over him right now?

That is out of at least 63 others.

My hope is Patrick Peterson isn't content being a top 10 or 15 CB and realizes, with his athleticism, he can work to being a hall of fame CB. My hope is Patrick Peterson gets a little of Fitzgerald's desire to be the best and continues to work to perfect his craft.

Obviously you dont pay attention to much regarding Patrick Peterson and his desire to be the best.

I have no idea. IMO it is always tough to gauge the overall desire of really talented athletes. Their natural ability can cover for a lack of focus or preperation. Again, I have no idea if this is the case with Patrick Peterson. Everything I have heard has been good, but he media can always be fluffed. My hope is that he has it, because if he does, he will be a Hall of Fame player.

Well all he does is talk about how he will become the best CB in the league. Talks about it passionately too. Trains all off season with his father who is a coach etc..

Agreed although that one push by Johnson(?) was so blatant I get why PP complained. They showed the replay and even ex Bill Tasker said wow that's Offensive PI for sure.

Peterson does seem too cocky for his own good at CB, he is getting better but he's not there yet in terms of elite cover CB.

PP is only 6 games into his second season after being thrown to the wolves last year.... sheesh man. This is not an excuse for him, just give him some time to get better. Yes, he makes mistakes but the kid appears to have the desire which is a big deal, imo

What I think is funny is that he has Feely tell him where to stand on punt returns.

That's IMO a huge sign of character, he'd rather get it right than worry about how it looks having someone tell him where to stand and he's fine with it.

He's a good kid.

Johnson got away with a bunch of BS that game. There was one big run when PP was getting held against the sideline where you could see his jersey get stretched out. He's still young, he wont get calls for another year at least. And I never got any impression that he was cocky. He is far from timid, but never saw him as cocky

agreed. He takes advice from all the guys. You can see AW telling him stuff to do all the time on D, Feely helps him with STs. The kid seems very mature for his age. He could be unbelievable in a couple years if he keeps it up
#3 in tackles.

1. Washington 53
2. Lenon 37
3. Schofield 28
gotcha. Thanks. Scho has really turned it on in terms of his performance. Barring injury, he should pass Lenon by the end of the season

I am not sure Aeneas Williams would be able to play CB now the same way he did in the early 90s.

I learned our coaches just don't get it! You know you have are terrible line and a bruised up QB that's taken a ton of abuse yet you still refuse to change the offense to help? It's just beyond ridiculous at this point. Extra rb's, tight end chips, screens, quick hitting plays! We come with the stupid handoffs up the middle with LSH seriously?

The coaching staff is clueless and if I hear Whiz say the systems works one more time.. The system doesn't work you freakin moron, if your supposed system works how come no one can freakin run it? Whiz needs to stop trying to be an OC and just be the coach! And if these are the plays Miller wants to run and system he wants to run he should be fired immediately! You think Belichik would stand for this crap... No Tom Brady was getting abused so he changed, made adjustments like a SMART head coach would! I am really beginning to wonder how long Whiz gets to prove it wasn't Warner who guided this team because without him and Haley he looks freakin clueless and gets out coached often!

This +1000.

I like CKW but I honestly can't wait until he gets canned because that is what it's going to take to get Grimm and Miller gone. I just wish somehow, someway, CKW could distance himself from those two, but he never will.

I think that is going to happen sooner that we think. Otherwise, Whis will be gone. I know he is loyal, but I don't think he is dumb enough to let that happen. We shall see.
