Hall of Famer
What we have done:
1. Re-structure Fitz: A good deal for both sides and I will enjoy these "last" two years from a Cardinal ICON.
2. Dockett...hmmmmmmmm...I really liked Dockett. At one point, he was a favorite. yet, I feel like I do when an energy vampire friend or girlfriend(in a situation that is becoming negative)leaves...kind of(or very) relieved. Also, he made himself look like an ass and WILL regret this decision. I could see him asking to play for the min. to re-join the Cards.
3. Re-sign Ta'amu : Sure...if he plays like 13-14! Glad to see him back...covers run stuffer and double team demand-er for this defense.
4. Woodley : Immediately replaces Acho/Abraham on the depth chart. With Arians and Foote being familiar with Woodley...this should be, at least, great veteran leadership and possibly the same overachieving that we have seen from other older FAs.
What we are about to do:
1. Mike Lupati : Wow...I had hoped for this but didn't expect it. Did we overpay? I don't know...we got one of the nastiest and most talented Guards in the entire NFL. I believe he will thrive in this offense and his pass protection will improve dramatically. To think of him and Hulk...that will be dominant! Great signing!!!
2. Sean Weatherspoon : I love this signing, albeit the risk. I wanted him in the draft. I remember I wanted this kid so bad, that when we drafted doughboy Dan Williams a few picks later, I was pissed. If he is healthy...best linebacker in the division(maybe Wagoner or our own Washington.)...and in week 3 or 5...he will line up next to the second best linebacker in the division. I wish he had signed for two...cause if he is healthy this year he will command high dollar next year at this time. Great Signing!!!
3. Corey peters : Bye Dockett...hello Peters. He is a guy I was intrigued with coming out...but the knock was lazy and weight issues. Looks like he has corrected that and we may have just caught a very good player entering his prime! Another...great signing!(only one exclamation)
What is next:
Who knows...ha ha
1. Not big on Orakpo, Redding or Irving...they could all have great roles on this team but none are worth breaking the bank for. At low compensation they are all great competition.
2. A running back...hmmmm. I don't want Peterson...but I would buy his jersey if we get him for 3-4 years. . i don't think this as much of a "need" because the draft is stocked and we can always find a back in FA after the dust settles.
3. Cro...a solid number two CB...First, I would cut Sendlein and move Larson over...draft a C in 2 or 3...there are good one's.(3.15 mil) Cut Powers and know that the badger or bethel have this.(4.35 mil.) Offer Cro a two or three year deal averaging six to seven mil.! First or second on a CB in the draft.
Draft:
1. OLB, RB or CB
2.CB or C
3. RB, OLB, ILB
4,5,6,7 who knows
Damnit, I was all excited when i went to bed Monday and then crickets all day and crickets all night...LET'S GO!!!
