What if Kemba Is On The Board When The Suns Pick At #13?

There now looks like a very good chance that Kemba Walker could slip and be available at #13. Do you take him? I say YES!!! In my opinion, he would breath new life into this team and for the future.

If they take Markieff Morris or Iman Shumpert over this proven "winner", I will be sick!

I'd take him, and S&T brooks somewhere.

There are several players I'd like to see us add. I'd be happy with any combination of Biyombo, Singleton, Walker, Faried or Marshon Brooks. If they are all available when we pick I hope we find a way to add another pick or two. I really wouldn't be all that disappointed if we grabbed Jimmer either as long as he falls to us. Actually, there are a lot of decent players in this draft that I think will be available to us, I just don't know if there's anyone really worth moving up for.

Kemba Walker reminds me of Aaron Brooks. No point in drafting him IMO.

his game might be similiar to brooks in some facets (waterbug quickness and shooting), but he's much stronger, a better rebounder, a better leader, and miles more successful. kemba took a very young team, carried it early in the season when he had to, and ultimately lead them to a national championship. imho there's no comparison to brooks.

he's there, you take him and laugh your way to the bank. no way he's there.

Kemba Walker's ceiling is Aaron Brooks. If you don't want Brooks here you don't want Kemba.

I HATE to agree with Slin, but he's right on this one. Walker is not nearly the same player as Brooks.

My biggest concern about Brooks is I rarely see passion, only anger. That type of person is not a leader, Kemba is definitely a leader. In fact, he's the kind of leader that does it for the right reasons. Also, as has been mentioned, Kemba is a much stronger and much more physical player than Brooks. He may not be quite the leaper Brooks is but even still he's an excellent rebounder because he simply understands the game.

If you want to make the case that Kemba is not as important to this team because we already have Brooks, I could agree with that. Not because they are so similar though, merely because they play the same position and do SOME of the same things. Add in the fact that if we keep Brooks, PG is no longer anywhere near our most glaring weakness and I could see drafting someone else. However, despite the fact that I think we undervalue a healthy Brooks, put Kemba and Aaron on the same team and Walker wins the starting spot and rather easily, IMO.

Kemba doesn't address a need and there are plenty of Kemba types in the NBA. We are better off picking the best PF available rather than creating a logjam at the point.

I disagree. I think Kemba Walker's floor is closer to Aaron's ceiling. I think Kemba is more like a Rod Strickland than he is like an Aaron Brooks. Plus, he's a better leader than either of those two and every bit as quick. I liked the Brooks acquisition but I think he's capable of being a slightly below average starter or a highlight reel, change of pace backup in this league but Kemba has All Star potential, IMO.

I agree with this part of your post. I look around and don't see all these "Kemba types" you're talking about so I guess we'll have to wait and see on your other point.

Kemba imo, is Rajon Rondo lite...

He is going to have a pretty good career, if not great one...

And yes the Suns will absolutely pass on him without a doubt... mark it down, Walker will not be in a Suns uniform

Don't see the Rondo likeness at all. I say yes to Kemba. Brooks bye-bye. We need PF, SG, PG. Best available at any of those. We need youth and talent.

Pick SG and let Duds and Hill play SF, pick SF and Duds can keep the starting SG.

i'll be pretty pissed if we pass on Kemba for Jimmer. i mean, if were going to go for a PG, get a floor leader, one who isn't afraid of the big shot AND plays defense.

Why? They traded for brooks. They are virtually the same player.

did any of you guys watch college basketball? just because they're both black and small doesn't mean they're the same player folks... just like Jimmer's not the same player as Reddick/Morrison simply because they're all white.

Per Paul Coro at azcentral chat today, he likes: Kemba Walker, Tristan Thompson, Markieff Morris or Iman Shumpert (in that order)

I'd be fine with Walker or Thompson (Tristan or Klay, for that matter). I'm not overly fond of either Morris brother but I really don't know what to think about all the Shumpert rumors. I'm not very familiar with his game. I only watched him a few times during his first 2 years and he was unimpressive each time. I didn't watch a single Ga Tech game this year so I have no idea whether he's really improved that much. If we're really after him, I hope he brings more than just great measurables.
