Warner will not see much preseason action, first series only, until maybe the last preseason game. The question at hand is mute.

The 3rd preseason game is the game the starters see the most action in, not the last. They only play a series or two in the last exhibition.

My bad you are 100% correct. In any case Warner will not see alot of preseason action.

Whis - best player plays. If Warner has a weak camp and drops the ball week 3 of preseason Leinart will start

Yes. Best player plays. You overstate a little (not by much) about how quickly Warner could be benched. schmo's statement about it nails it too.

Kurt Warner was signed to be a starter for this team for the next two years. He would have to struggle and Matt would have to play well for Leinart to win the starting job at this point. I don't see it happening. :mulli:

Isn't that the exact situation-in reverse-that we had this time last season?

Matt struggled and Whisenhunt didn't hesitate to make the switch.

No, it's actually a tad bit different considering the contract Kurt Warner just got with the gauranteed $.

As compared to the #10 pick in the 2006 draft and his 6 year $51 million dollar contract with $14 million guaranteed?

It is a tad bit different because Warner would likely have to play more ineffectively than Leinart did last preseason to offset Kurt's performance last regular season.

EDIT: The "cheap" Cards now have over 33 million dollars in guaranteed money invested, over and above salaries, in their two QBs.

Exactly, that's my point and concern.
