What if Trent Richardson was available at pick #13?

Peterson met a need, but was BPA. As were Williams and Beanie who were expected to be off the board by the time the Cards picked.

Yes, there have been times BPA = greatest need. That wouldn't be the case with this hypothetical scenario. IMHO. Unless, of course, we did something amazing at OT in free agency.

I was thinking we need to draft another RB this year myself..... I like Stewart at Stanford......maybe third or fourth round.

I like Stewart as well Chuck! Wouldn't mind the Cards taking a shot at him in the later rounds...

Physically Richardson IS better than Ingram, on the field not really. Ingram averaged 5.5 YPC over 3 years, Richardson 5.7. They're very similar, Richardson is faster but Ingram IMHO is a better natural runner he sees holes better, he cuts better, and he makes the first man miss more often. Richardson to me is more like McFadden he will have to adjust to not being able to run full speed into a hole on every carry. He runs very hard and will break tackles but he's not all that elusive. Ingram makes more guys miss and gets hit square less often. Ingram is the closest thing to Emmitt Smith I've seen, this year wasn't great for him but largely due to injury he wasn't really 100% most of the season.

Both will be great NFL RB's, I have a feeling assuming Ingram's foot is ok, that he will have the longer career because he doesn't get hit square as often.

I agree with this... Richardson is actually bigger and faster than Ingram. However, Ingram is definitely the better, more natural runner... I have to say that, for as much as Richardson did at 'bama, I was never overly impressed with his skills... Solid for sure. And I'm not sure what it is exactly, but, I just never felt wow'd by him...

Who are the top 5 remaining prospects still undrafted at #13? How closely are the 5 guys (one of whom would probably be Richardson) rated?

If Richardson was rated #1 of the 5, but only marginally better than one or more of the other 4 guys, I'd imagine the Cards would pass on him if Ryan Williams is considered ready to go medically.

Side note - Cards are said to build team need and system fit into their overall player ratings, so Richardson would probably be downgraded a little anyway.
