I know none of this will happen but with free agency just about over and the draft a little over a month away if figured why not throw out some ideas.

What if we signed Anthony Thomas and Chris Hovan to league minimum dealsn and sign Andre Dyson who says he isn't looking for a big payday and Renaldo Hill. With those signings we would solve our problem at running back, get a run stuffing defensive tackle (who is looking to revive his career) to team with Russell Davis, and two starting cornerbacks. Then we would really be able to select the best player available throughout the whole draft because most of our needs will be filled.

*Note that due to lack of funds the above is more than likely not to happen but is just one man's opinion.

Hovan's not a run-stuffer. He'd back up Dockett and King at UT.

I'm on board with resigning Hill and bringing in Dyson (combined with a first or second round pick that's going from literally almost nothing to a dang good defensive backfield).

I don't care for the idea of bringing Thomas and Hovan in at this point. I think we have the same types of players with equal or better talent on this roster already.

I'm not sold on your choice of players, but I do like the idea. I think Kenny king is underrated, and will fill in nicely on the D-Line. Agree that we need to get Renaldo Hill signed. If the price is right, Dyson is worth a look. Hovan's best days are behind him though.
I'd like us to either go with Shipp, then draft a 2nd round RB. Or, go hard at Shaun Alexander.
