Poll coming. Initially he wanted $8 million per year. Then he dropped that to $6 million. Now NFLN reports he'd settle for Osi Umeniyora money, $8.5 million over two years.

How much could or should the Cardinals pay?

I said 2.5 million.

Doesn't mean I'd start there. But I'd be comfortable paying him that. Something like 2 years 5 million.

Technically if we have enough room to make some in season moves due to injury and maybe help us re-sign someone, we might have the room to go higher if it's a 1 year deal.

He's a speed pash rusher. 2005 Freeney gets a boatload of cash. 2013 Freeney gets to compete for situational pass rusher.

Sack production the last 4 years:

13.5

8.5

Are we seeing a trend here? Veteran minimum and he has to compete for a roster spot. Joey Porter 2.0.

I'd prefer to save the roster spot so we can continue to develop younger players.
