I'm guessing Kliff keeps him in shotgun, because he's afraid of batted balls, which are happening with increased frequency anyway.
Yes but if he rolls out on bootlegs occasionally to open space he doesn't have 4 guys to throw over, only one guy maybe & he can usually juke defenders one on one. Plus he can see more of the field. He needs to play under center way more often imo.

I think Stafford was occasionally doing like a half bootleg off of play-action against us in the Rams game. It was pretty effective. Got him into open space, and it was a while before our pass rush even got near him.

Maybe its Kyler who doesn't like being under center. Maybe the reason is it gives him less field of vision as he is closer to the line and needs to drop back first before he can even begin to see down field. In shotgun he's already several yards back from the line.

I think you have a raw, undeveloped QB that is lacking someone who can not only develop him into a NFL QB but also put him in situations that help him succeed and build confidence. We instead have incompetent coaching that has Kyler throwing the ball 50 times a game, mostly from the shotgun.

KK has no clue how to be a successful NFL coach and I believe he is just hoping Kyler will bail him out every week by letting him do Kyler stuff. When Kyler can't single-handedly save the day the team just folds up. Teams have figured out what we are doing and how to stop this offense when we get into throw the ball every down mode.

The big question is will KK get Kyler physically damaged, mentally damaged or both if this incompetence continues.

Amazing that we managed to go 2-1 with Kyler in street clothes then.

Not really, we had a veteran QB who was running a balanced game plan of run / pass and was not turning the ball over in his 2 wins. With the talent on this roster I would expect a veteran QB who does not play scared or make mistakes to win games that should be won.

I couldn’t agree with this take more. You have people chiming in look at Colt. 2-1. He beat Seattle just back from injury (Seattle averaged less than 10 points a game in that 3 game stretch), got whipped by Carolina while looked very solid vs SF.

This board for the most part is truly amazing in the support for Kliffy vs Kyler. Kyler is a generational talent - I don’t care if you people want to ignore that. Baltimore was able to put together a scheme hat allowed Lamar Jackson through for 34+ TDs and capture an MVP. He isn’t half the passer as Kyler. Coaching in Baltimore is A+ in developing talent and putting players in a scheme to succeed.

His signature play is his throw to the pylon from about the 25 on a go. He especially likes it on 4th down.

He runs it consistently and it is usually successful.

I'm going with take the shot gun snap. Drop back 3 or 4 yards, see a ghost spin left or right, and drop back another 10 yards. Duck and throw up a prayer. Seen it too many times.
