Here's a nice story on the history of the cup:

http://nhl.com/hockeyu/history/cup/cup.html

It interesting that the cup was originally just the bowl on the top, and then they have added rings on the bottom to engrave the names. Some day the Cup will be 6 feet tall.

No, that's incorrect. As the large rings at the bottom fill up (I think there are 6 or 7, but I'd have to look at a picture of it to be sure), the top one is removed and placed in the HoF and a new ring is added at the bottom.

The Stanley Cup is the greatest trophy in all sports they even made a documentary about it. Nothing comes close.

I was indeed wrong. I didn't realize that they removed the rings, over time, as new teams are added to the trophy. I guess the trophy grew to it's current size in the 1940's. From another web-site:

The rest of the Cup changes too. The rings that comprise the base of the Cup are eventually retired to make room for new teams. Older rings are retired to the Hockey Hall of Fame (before we start calling it The Stanley Missile) where all but one of the original rings remain. (One legend says that that missing ring was stolen by a Canadien who melted it into a trophy for Montreal coach Toe Blake. That ring was supposedly targeted because it had the names of the 1929-30 Boston Bruins.)

The Cup has five rings connected, each with room for 13 teams, so if you're lucky enough to get your name on the Cup, your name will stay on the Cup for 64 years.

I voted for the Stanley Cup. I've been to the hockey hall of fame and they have this section that is like a bank vault where all the old pieces of the cup are kept because it would be too large otherwise. Very impressive.

A close second would be the grandfather clock that is handed out at Martinsville speedway for winning the race. Darrell Waltrip has 11 of them!
