I'm interested in hearing what people think the ideal starting lineup would be around Booker and Durant. Let's imagine that the Suns could select any players in the league with their current contracts, but the roster would still have to fit within the salary cap.

Booker
Halliburton
 Sabonis
Durant
Cam Johnson

I went with stuff that might have realistically happened based on actual circumstances and rumors. I don't think the Suns could have realistically avoided trading Bridges for Durant, but holding on to Cam might have been possible. Trading Ayton for Sabonis was a longer shot, but might have been possible before Ayton's RFA year. And Halliburton was a no brainer draft choice that Jones/Monty bumbled.

I think some of you may be TOPloading a bit lol
Booker
Durant
DA (the new engaged fired up version)22pts 15rb 2blk (yeah I know)
A QUICK D minded PG that gets 15 ish pts and 12 ast
A 3nD guy that can go off but mostly avg 15-20pt 7 rb ish
A COMPETENT Bench that doesn't involve a Monte puppet ie Shamet, Nader, Okbozo with a locker room guy like McGee or Frank 20-50pts 15-30 rbs
Its not Rocket Surgery

Oh crap! I forgot to add Whemby. Throw him in there somewhere.

Realistically or like an Olympic team lineup lol.

Vanvleet
Booker
KD
Steve Adams
Herb Jones

Little more toughness needed in this team imo. Maybe some PJ/Crowder type bench players, keep Okogie, Ross, D Lee, can’t have to much shooting and Okogie can be a solid Bench player imo just not starter material.

This should be our starting line up going into next year but nooooooo

Thanks James Jones

I took this as ultimate, meaning pick from around the league now. Otherwise I would have put Webanyama on there!

I asked google bard and got this answer:

The ideal starting lineup for the Suns assuming that they keep Booker and Durant would be:
  • PG: Chris Paul
  • SG: Devin Booker
  • SF: Kevin Durant
  • PF: Mikal Bridges
  • C: Deandre Ayton

I'm going semi-realistic since all it would take is an Ayton & CP3 trade for this to happen...

Mitchell Robinson
Julius Randle
Kevin Durant
Devin Booker
Immanuel Quickley
