Toyota will struggle early in the year, but the engineers in TRD will become more competitive as time goes on.
Toyota (Lexus) just won the 24 Hours of Daytona, the second most prestigious endurance motor car race in the world after the 24 hours at Le Mans.
2007 is also the year where Toyota surpasses GM and becomes the leading automotive company in the world -- over 9.7 million vehicles sold.
Toyota started selling cars in the U.S. in 1957, some 50 years ago and 50 years after the Model T first sold in 1908. Ford has been selling cars in the U.S. for 100 years, Toyota 50 years.
If you asked me 20 years ago, I would have laughed at Toyota Camrys. I'm a realist. Somehow I think Toyota will catch the competition in NASCAR and pass them up.
Regardless, it makes watching NASCAR all the more interesting.
