I am upgrading my little LG keyboard flip phone later this month (hooray). I'm just starting to do some research and thought I'd get some feedback on what you guys use and what you like/dislike about your phones.

So, please share.

I have a BlackBerry from work--blah.

My oldest daughter, however, got herself a Droid X2 and she loves it. It's not the newest "X" Droid, but the guy at the store told her she was getting possibly the best phone out there. It shoots HD video, 8 mp camera, best screen resolution available, and the best thing about it is that it is wifi enabled, so anywhere you can get wifi you can use the internet without tapping into your data plan. Most of her internet time on it is spent at home, so she is just using our network and it's keeping her data usage super low.

Not sure if you're looking to get a smartphone, but if you are, this one seems to be awesome. Because it's not the newest, she was able to get it (Verizon) for $100 (after rebate--$150 before rebate). Great deal on an amazing phone.

Currently have a Samsung Rant.

My next phone will be the Epic Touch 4G. It's Sprint's branded name for the Samsung Galaxy S II.

I'm currently using the HTC Incredible. It's been a great phone. It's Android which I plan on sticking with. I'm probably going to be upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (aka Nexus Prime) which is being announced tomorrow. It's going to be the first phone with Android 4.0 (codename: Ice Cream Sandwich).

I hear that Android phones are prone to viruses - is that true? My friend has an HTC and it just goes down randomly and she sometimes loses her icons .. ??

I've had an Android phone for a year and a half (an HTC one in fact) and know a bunch of people with them as well. I've never seen one with a virus. Android is based on Linux which tends to be pretty safe when it comes to viruses since most of them are made to attack Windows devices. Like anything else, as long as you use common sense and don't download things from suspicious sources you'll be fine.

Ah ... for some reason I thought it was developed by Google so I thought they were similar to a windows platform.

So, of course, we told her to stop looking at porn on her phone :)

I just got the Incredible 2 Red on black Friday. Smokin deal, only cost $4-5 for taxes w/ 2yr contract. I never buy top of the line phones when they come out, it's a waste of $$.
The only diff between the Red and regular is that the Red comes w/ an 8gb card instead of 16gb.
Considering I upgraded from the Eris it's night and day and I like shooting video at the higher formats (720p max, but I think it's 30fps)
Photo quality is superb as well.

There are some quirks with buttons that I'm still getting used to from the Eris, but no big deal.

Correct, but just like Windows, market share (42% to 24% ifone) will always lead to more malware.. Even using open wifi has risks just like with a laptop.

Here's a good article: http://tabletroms.com/index.php/2011/11/22/android-virus-threats-real-or-imagined/

Yes, the increase is sky rocketing, but that's because of market share mainly. Just like with Windows, if you're smart you should be fine.

I had that phone too and loved it. I had it for about 5 months (june 2011 from Craigslist $160), till my 2 year old daughter threw it in the washer for a cleaning.
Luckily, I was eligible for an upgrade, so I ended up trying the Bionic for a week. It's a solid phone: fast, nice screen (960x540), and smooth overall design.
But I figured I only get an upgrade once every 2 years and traded it in for the Droid Razr.
I thought I might regret it, but I love the design of the Razr. It's thin, and very light, and a bit faster than the Bionic.

I just switched from a Blackberry Curve 9300 to an Iphone 4S.

I love the difference in photos, video, and the camera. The Iphone is superior to my old Blackberry in these regards.

I've only had it for a few days but my one big complaint is the ring tone/alert tone/alarm deal. With Blackberry I could just select a song from my playlist and be good to go. For the Iphone I had to buy an app to create tones. It's easy to do but a pain in the ass compared to the Blackberry.

Me too. I don't like the square shape of the 4 and 4s.

Errr. So Verizon is saying my upgrade isn't until September, 2012. Not sure how that is possible. Will have to go in and raise hell. No worries there, lol.

I love my Android phone. I just upgraded from a Android EVO 4G (which I loved) to a Samsung Galaxy 2 Epic 4G (Android). I simply love the Android phones which I chose over Apple and I am very happy.
