I am not saying I want to give these guys up just yet but what kind of players can we get for them? I tried searching for a mlb trade machine like the nba trade machine so i could do some mixing and matching trade ides. I dont know baseball contracts and salries so I am asking the people on ASFN. Thanks for the input. I mean there is three potential all stars if not this year in futer years to come. I could also seeing teams wanting Scherzer or Qualls or Drew and Davis and maybe Lopez.

No players worth trading those three for.

Yup.

What would be the point in trading these three? There is no way the D-backs could ever get equal value for Haren and Upton. They would lose in every possible manner.
They do however need to be active before the 7/31st deadline. They need to seriously consider unloading Davis and Lopez at minimum and look to grab as many top-quality prospects as possible...

I cannot stand watching Davis pitch so I hope the Chicago teams don't consider him.

Why would a team that is rebuilding trade their primary building blocks?

Hello.... D-backs.... there are deals to be had out there!
Davis and Lopez can fetch some very nice prospect material!!! Get going!

Yankees acquire Hinske from Pirates

NEW YORK (AP)—Former AL Rookie of the Year Eric Hinske(notes) was acquired by the New York Yankees from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday for a pair of minor leaguers.

Pittsburgh will receive right-hander Casey Erickson and outfielder Eric Fryer for the utilityman. In addition, the Pirates will give the Yankees cash.

The 31-year-old Hinske hit .255 in 106 at-bats this season with nine doubles, one homer and 11 RBIs, playing right field, first base and third base. He was 8 for 24 as a pinch hitter and said to be unhappy with a lack of playing time.

Through June 29 last year, he had 13 home runs en route to a 20-home run season with the AL champion Tampa Bay Rays. He won the rookie award with Toronto in 2002, when he hit .279 with 24 homers and 84 RBIs, and was a member of Boston’s World Series championship team in 2007.

The 23-year-old Erickson was 3-3 with a 2.25 ERA in three starts and 18 relief appearances at Class A Charleston this season. Fryer, also 23, hit .250 with 11 doubles, two homers, 24 RBIs and 11 steals for Class A Tampa after leading the South Atlantic League with a .335 average last year for West Virginia. He was obtained by the Yankees in February for left-hander Chase Wright(notes)

When is a 23 year old reliever in High A or a 23 year old LF with a 677 OPS in Mid A considered a "prospect"?

Byrnes would have to be ******** to trade these 3. All 3 have reasonable contracts, are young and are locked up for a few years.

Davis, Lopez, Garland and any of the other vets are up for grabs but not these 3. They are the Dbacks untouchables.

Max is untouchable too.

The point was that deals are being done and the E-Backs should be as aggressive as any team in an effort to pick up prospects.

Deals are being done, but the one you used as an example was a salary dump. The Pirates gave money and took back trash for Hinske. The guys we'd be shopping don't have contracts needing to be dumped.

I was told by a friend the Angels are inquiring about Haren... and we are listening to offers. If we traded him, that might be enough to put me over the edge with this franchise for a long time.

If we trade Upton I am done with this team. That's all I have to say on this matter.

:biglaugh: at this thread. You don't trade Upton, Reynolds or Haren for that matter. You build around players like this.

I always got a chuckle, albeit a chuckle of misunderstanding, over people who use the threat of "disowning the team if a player is traded or not re-signed".

I laughed when people did it following the Schilling trade, when the team let Gonzo walk and when they were negotiating with Eric Byrnes on a new contract.

I don't like every move the Diamondbacks do, and if Haren were traded, I'd be pretty disappointed, before looking at the package. However, am I going to disown the team? **** that.

You could not get anyone to replace those guys, ha. They are our best players.

I expect to see Lopez, Davis, and relievers traded.

Worst. Thread. Ever.

In baseball if you are going to trade established talent its to get young, inexpensive, locked in players.

Which is what all three of those players are. In addition to being IMMENSELY talented.

Seriously - THIS thread gets two pages?
