Harry, always like reading your posts. But until FA and the Draft plays out, there is too much conjecture for me. The Cardinals do have a lot of question marks, and I'm guessing that if you sat down with the same group a year ago, the group might have reached a similar conclusion. Doesn't mean they/you are wrong, but the team has had a history of losing, and I think that history influences people who study the team. JMO.

The base of the team is in place along with many bona fide depth players. BA&SK with Cap Guru Mike Disner need to work the figures so that they are able to add the right free agents and draft picks.

When all is said and done---I would expect that we will see:

A new lead RB
A new RG and quite possibly a new C (Ted Larsen or Anthony Steen)
A new ROLB and quite possibly a new NT in FA or draft if Big Dan leaves.
A new ILB---if in FA, then no Larry Foote...if in draft, then yes with Larry Foote.
A new RCB---likely Justin Bethel but also another FA or a high draft pick.
A new WR if Fitz is traded or released.
A new KR---likely from the draft.

BA is now talking about Carson Palmer being the QB for the next 3 years and that he remains very high on the prospects of Logan Thomas. If this is indeed the thinking, then we won't see a trade for a QB or a high draft pick on one.

Here's one guess:

RB David Cobb, Minnesota---3rd Round
G Clint Boling (UFA-CIN)
ROLB Jabaal Sheard (UFA-CLE)
ILB Stephone Anthony, Clemson---2nd Round
CB Kareem Jackson (UFA-HOU)
WR Jaelen Strong, Arizona St.---1st Round
ILB/OLB Lorenzo Mauldin, Louisville---4th Round
NT Dan Williams (UFA-AZ)

What would you say if they picked Perryman and Anthony with back to back picks / or Mauldin or the kid from UCLA in the 3rd?

You wouldn't need to worry about ILB and may even be able to move one of them to the outside if/when DWash returns.

I think the FO might value flexability in the LB's.

If you look at their track record it is a pretty safe bet then wont equal or exceed their 11 win total. The Big Red's greatest win total since 1960 is 11. Prior to last season the last time they won eleven games was 1975 when they went 11-3 in a 14 game season and won the NFC East for a second straight time. In 1976 they won 10 games but came up short of qualifying for the then one wild card. I will take the under.

I just dont get how these type of declarations (positive or negative) can be made.....before the Super Bowl has even been played? Let alone once we get an idea of what the plan is around draft, FA, and the defense.

White Noise at this point.

Is the result of the Super Bowl somehow going to have an effect on the Cards' offseason plans?
