Let the Madness begin.
The men's NCAA Tournament gets underway on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio, with First Four action involving a pair of teams that just barely made the field of 68 and two others seeking the opportunity to knock off a No. 1 seed.
The initial round of the tourney finishes up with the other two First Four games on Wednesday at UD Arena.
From there, things get even crazier with the winners advancing to the full first round of action with a total of 32 games being played on Thursday and Friday. Get ready for all the fantastic finishes and memorable moments on the road to the Final Four in San Antonio.
The Red Flash of St. Francis (16-17) finished fourth in the Northeast Conference, but ran the table in the conference tournament, upending regular-season champ Central Connecticut in the final.
The Hornets of Alabama State (19-15) followed a similar route to the Big Dance. After finishing fourth in the Southwest Athletic Conference, they edged Jackson State for the SWAC title.
The winner will face No. 1-seeded Auburn on Thursday in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Tar Heels of UNC (22-13) were the most controversial at-large selection to the tournament field after going 1-12 against Quad 1 teams during the regular season.
The Aztecs (21-9) finished fourth in the Mountain West and were ousted in the first round of the conference tournament.
The winner will face No. 6 seed Mississippi on Friday in Milwaukee.
