What position of need do you think we should look at filling through FA instead of the draft?

I think a list of FA ranked came out this week....I can't remember where I saw it. But wondering if it is too early for us to think about who we most likely or what position we are most likely going to fill in FA prior to the draft? Any of you geniuses have any idea yet? If so, spill your guts before I have Mugsy work you over.

CB I think CB is a position where experience counts just as much as athletic ability. The cards have a great defense and CB is a weak spot.

But I know it's the same Kenny Britt who was a 1000 yard receiver with Case Keenum and Jared Goff throwing him the ball.

I'm not sure RG is a need. Veldheer and Humphries will be back and Wetzel showed skills filling in for injured players. BA has said that the young guys got a lot of playing time due to injuries and did well. Palmer was the most hit QB in the NFL (IIRC) but in BA's system that's going to happen some anyway.

Boehm did well at OG and as much heat as AQ takes from fans he did play rather well so he may be our C this upcoming year.

My point is I think the Oline held up fairly well with 3 starters injured. We have spent a ton on the Oline and the CAP is tight so I'm going with ILB and FS.

Not trying to be a smart aleck, it just seems prudent that you would not limit your options for any position to the draft and ignore it in free agency.

Right now, I wouldn't rank any position over another - just go after the best FA's we can afford & sign.

That could change, of course, should there be a run on our FA's, but if we can hold onto most of them, I believe (that other than depth at QB2, TE and WR1 - & even there we could skate by) - we're deeper in talent across the board than at any time in franchise history.

I get what you are saying. Reason I say guard is, who is going to be the focus part of our offense next year ? Not to mention NONE of the players on the roster right now were slotted to start at right guard last season. Our starting right guard played a 1/2 of a game and never saw the field again.

Not saying the Cardinals cannot put a backup talent at RG but then again, we cannot be surprised when that part of the line becomes a sieve.

BA stated that Boehm might be in the mix to be our RG this coming season. At some point one of these draft picks on the Oline has to pay off and be a starter. Now if BASK don't have faith in the current Oline group then yes go get a RG in FA.

I just think DJ, MI, AQ, Wetzle/Boehm/Toner, JV would be a very good Oline and not a sieve in the making.

A bad QB CB LT S,K in that order are the positions that lose the most games in college or the NFL. The Cards barely have two good ones in a league where you need 3 maybe 4 decent ones. Peterson is the best in NFL Cooper is slightly above Avg the rest of the CB are below Avg at best.

A bad CB can allow teams to repeatedly change field position.

With that said Cards can't afford a learning curve for a player that may not develop into a good player. Most CB fail in the NFL if you are going to spend money on the position might as well spend it on one that will not be a liability.
