Thousands of runners will hit the streets of Austin this weekend for the 48th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000 — the largest 10K in Texas — prompting closures along some of the city's busiest roadways.
The race kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with wheelchair athletes, followed by the first wave of runners and walkers at 8 a.m. Participants will cross the Congress Avenue Bridge and loop through central Austin before finishing along West Riverside Drive.

Street closures do not happen simultaneously; start and end times may vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour of scheduled time.
Road closures will begin at 3 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Cap10K website. Some roads could open as early as 9 a.m. on a rolling schedule following the last participant.
The entire course closes by 11 a.m.
Several roads in Austin will be closed as they are part of the race course. These closures will remain in effect throughout the event. The course map shows the roads on which participants will race.
