Thousands of runners will hit the streets of Austin this weekend for the 48th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000 — the largest 10K in Texas — prompting closures along some of the city's busiest roadways.

The race kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with wheelchair athletes, followed by the first wave of runners and walkers at 8 a.m. Participants will cross the Congress Avenue Bridge and loop through central Austin before finishing along West Riverside Drive.
