Patrick Stewart is one of the worst film actors to ever carry Shakespearean credentials. Or perhaps he just makes awful film role choices.

But on TNG, he was the kind of leader I can only envision with my best hope, yet never see in real life. Whatever else divides the Treks, Jean-Luc is one of the best written actors for television of the 20th Century.

Oh, and TNG had Q, who might just be my favorite TV villain. His repartee with Riker was fun!

But he was in DUNE. Instant credibility.

OS- Just can't beat the classic that started it all.

TNG grew on me to be a close second.

No contest. Without the original, none of the other shows exist.

Never watched the original. I do have dvdrips of every episode of the others. My favorite is DS9 with TNG a close second, Voyager a distant third and Enterprise a really really distant fourth.

Just comparing one episode against another I'd probably give the advantage to TNG, however the thing I really liked about DS9 was the serialized plots. That's the deciding factor for me. The Dominion/Gamma quadrant arc blows away anything on TNG. Voyager started poorly but the last few seasons were pretty good. Enterprise was awful most of the time but ended up mediocre.

Because of Q I am going to say TNG with DS 9 in close second....Garak was great.

Not only Q...

What about The Borg? Loved that whole plot line.

TNG is the best.

It would've been cool if it had just been a single episode wink-wink homage to Vogans. Turning it into the seminal villain/conflict of the show was another story.
