what were the not so bright spots about today's game?

I tried to put an end to this pointless discourse, but, evidently you have a deep-seeded need to continue.

I had earlier addressed your point about the need for a more efficient pass rush.

The issue, IMO - was whether there had been a concious choice by Marmie to scheme in a fashion which limited Favre's ability to take full advantage of a pass rush. I think it's reasonable to believe he did... and that he'll prepare from week to week in a fashion which best uses his personnel and takes advantage of any percieved weakness.

Feel free to question my sanity and common sense, what certainly is not in question is your repetitive, sophomoric diatribe... supported by the arrogance of either youth (which is excusable) or a second rate mind, for which we can only offer our deepest sympathies.

You, sir, are an ass (note-this is an insult). You came onto this thread with a very sarcastic response, and when I tried to point out, very clearly, my side of the story, you jumped my case. I replied in kind, as you do not WANT to see anything but your own side.

The issue IN YOUR OPINION was all about Marmie because you chose to ignore everything else. Marmie is a bone of contention for me. There is no doubt. He coaches timid. It didn't work in weeks one and two. It worked last week. I doubt it will work much more. You think it will. You have nothing to point to but one week of football, which we barely won. I have quite a lot more games to point to where it didn't work. But you won't accept that. Fine, I'll leave you to your opinion.

But that's not enough for you. I find it amusing that you are allowed to question MY common sense, but when I question yours (in an obvious reference to your previous comments you clearly missed) and your sanity (which was in response to your degrading remarks), you are suddenly offended. My, my. Then you use a few big words, as if I should be impressed and admit you have 'beaten' me. Then you, laughably, try and use age.

Let me put it this way. When you insult, you will be insulted in kind. What is not in question is your blatant superiority complex, which can be due to the arrogance of age (the idea that you're somehow better because you're older...and as I'm 27, I'm no young-un). What is laughable is your thought I might have a second-rate mind. I'm currently working on an MFA in Shakespearean Drama, thank you, and my mind is certainly not in question.

I mockingly questioned your sanity because I disagree with your opinion, you did not wish to acknowledge anything else, and you seem to enjoy insulting people. I do hope you realized I was mocking you, and not seriously questioning your sanity. I wouldn't go so far as to question your intellect (you can obviously use a thesaurus), but you seem to want to question mine. How very droll.

I am through with you on this thread. I was here discussing a legit topic in a normal manner, and you come on the thread with your ridiculous sarcasm on the firing of Marmie, which could have been accomplished in a rational manner. You do not wish to reasonably discuss football. Save your insulting, contrarian thoughts and please, deposit them elsewhere.

Are you people for real? Last week you guys were talking about jumping off the top of the higest point at SDS and now you're critiquing a win??? Over the Packers no less?? Listen guys, you just pulled off one of the two biggest upsets of the year. Why not take a week to enjoy it?

Other than complying with the ancient Jewish anti-curse called the Kenna Hora (sp?) why would anyone want to search for the gloomy side of Sunday's win?

(Note - In Jewish families, when something good happens, it is customary to mutter "Kenna Hora Pooh! Pooh! Pooh!" (Some people accompany this by throwing rice over their left shoulder. Others make sure they say something negative about their good fortune in order to avoid having it "backfire").

Go back and read some of the other posts from after the game. I was one of the most vocal in support of the win. Hell, I even titled a threat THE GOOD.

But after a few days, realism sets in and, as a fan and poster, it is my duty (I feel) to critique what we are doing wrong.

I mean, if everyone was just smiling and ignoring what went wrong, what kind of boring message board would it be?

So, after questioning my sight, my common sense, my sanity... you now wear the mantel of the offended party. The only rational discussion you'd recognize is that which agrees with you.

Thanks for clearing things up.

It is self evidently the arrogance of arrested youth.

As I said, I'm done with you and your own arrogance. I listed my points and they quite clearly stand for themselves. Speak to the air, Northern, for no one else is going to listen.

Tango, you are the other one that seems to use the 'age' card as a trump. If you are more mature than I, as you claim, why did you jump on this thread, already on the fourth page, and then with a short, one-line insult?
