I think it will be either Smith(DT) and Bryant/Winfield(CB).. sign first.. I think that when they come in for a visit they WILL leave with a contract offer.

go cards.

Go get DE Bert Berry, cb Antonio Winfield and OG Chris Vallarrial. Then lets concentrate on the draft.

Upon further review......

I did a little more research and have come to the conclusion Grant Winstrom should be the DE that we go out and get. He makes us stronger and the Rams weaker.

Winstom and Winfield would be great additions to this defense.

Should be defense. CB or DL.

We need to get a vet WR or 2 and drop all our WRs except Quan and Johnson. Then we either go WR or D in the draft.

Have I covered my bases???

In other words...who the heck knows. I just feel more confident with Denny in here. In Denny we trust!!

We won't make any significant moves early in the free agency period. We never do.

People will come here and we will get all riled up...

Then they will leave without a contract offer because of that stupid 48 hour thing with Bidwill.

I think Bears RG Chris Villarrial will be our first signing. After that, I hope we sign CB's Fernando Bryant or Antoine Winfield. Jevon Kearse would be nice too. I don't think Kearse will sign quickly. I'm guessing he will entertain multiple offers while continuing to negotiate with Tennessee.

He doesn't amke us that much stronger, IMO. He's solid, but he's not the pass-rusher we need.

Anywhere he goes makes the Rams weaker--he doesn't have to play for the Cardinals for that part of the equation to hold true.

This may not be our first move, but don't be surprised if the Cards make an offer to Ogunleye, despite the required compensation. He will be tendered requiring a first and third, but the Cards figure to get a third or fourth round compensation pick, so that's that's not a big loss. The cost of moving up one notch with our second rounder to make it a first rounder would be a small price to get this guy. That's the play to make and Ogunleye definitely fits Green's description of the guys he would go after. I still like signing Woody as well, if he clears a physical.

Snyder is not my favorite guy, but what Washington did last year will, in my opinion, change the face of free agency for years to come.

The cards wont get any comp picks we signed more qualifing FA's(5) then we lost(2), sanders and lassiter dont count because they didnt sign until after the official FA signing period.

I just have a gut feeling that Villareal will be signed "right out of the blocks" and that its probably already pretty much of a done deal.

It has nothing to do with numbers it has to do with contracts...and Bostons contract is bigger than all the FA we got put together. So then you have Plummers 40 mil deal.....we will get a 3rd or 4th rounder.

McCown is the starting QB next year.

There is no "48 hour thing" with the Cards. (Where's Jim O...this is one of his "favorite" topics". :D

Bill Bidwill has pretty much relinquished control to Michael.

I'll be doing some cartwheels or nude hang gliding if we get those 3.

Well, we'll see if there isn't. There most certainly was last year (maybe not a full 48, but it was at least 24). I'm pretty sure there won't be now because of Green, but until we see it change, you can't say there isn't.

We'll see. I'm playing the optimist until given a reason to the contrary.

We're going to make a contract offer to Chris McAllister and work out a compensation package for this years first and next year's 3rd. We will then sign Smith (DT), Bert Berry (DE) and Chris Villarrial (OG)

I suppose we will see who is correct in a few days. I can't recall you ever being correct so this should be interesting.

Tango,

Name me a significant free agent that was signed without leaving town after his first visit. Just one in say the last 3 years.

I don't really care. It's sort of comical that he gets so worked up.

These moves:

Guard Chris Dishman, cornerback Emmanuel McDaniel and defensive tackle Derrick Ransom have been informed that the team won't offer them new contracts.

All are due to become unrestricted free agents next week.

Also, tender offers will not be extended to the following restricted free agents: cornerback Nijrell Eason, kicker Bill Gramatica, center Jason Starkey, guard Tony Wragge and defensive end Aaron Hunt.

where we dumped 3 players who played OG and 2 more who played CB last year, should signal clearly that we will address those two positions.
