Not seeing Miles play alot, I am not sure of his value, but from what I've seen, he seems to have talent, and he is just 21. With Miles more than likely being the odd man out in Cleveland, what would it take to get him? Could he help the Suns out at SG or SF, either as a starter or a backup?

IMO his value is lower than that of JJ right now. He was supposed to inject excitement in cleavland, but instead he was injured part of the season, and never did learn how to shoot. However, the Cavs will probably want more than he is worth since they gave up so much to get him. There will probably be a lot of problems in any deal including him.

That doesnt really answer the question, but I think that it would take far more than he is worth to get him.

I don't think Miles can play SG. In fact, his more likely to play PF at some time in the future than SG (not that that is a great likelihood either).

He's an acrobatic high flyer with shot blocking ability. I suppose we could get him for depth, but we really need to fill a hole at C and possibly SG.

I think the Cavs would be foolish to give up on Miles. LeBron will eventually play guard (and I think a good backcourt match with DaJuan). Miles might actually blossom with Le Bron there.

The place I think the Cavs are going to have to unload dead weight is at center. With Z healthy, I don't think they can afford to carry Mihm, and Diop as well, unless they think one of those two can also play PF.

What is this preoccupation with C and SG? It'd be nice to get another C, but that ain't going to happen barring a miracle. As for SG, ???? Who was the one player that was complained about the most besides Googs last year? Anyone?

That's right--DAN LANGHI. Our BACKUP SF. Why is everyone conveniently ignoring that position? There is a 95% chance we will not find a quality starting player--so we must turn to backups. And which backup do we need the most? We have Little/Big Jake, and JJ--so that effectively eliminates our backup needs at C and SG. That leaves PF, PG, and SF. We can get a competent backup PG in free agency for cheap, and we still have Googs and Bo, like it or not. That leaves one hole in our bench, and that is SF.

I would love to have Miles in Phoenix, but I DO agree that he will probably cost too much.

Miles would be a luxury the Suns cannot afford. It would take too much to get him, and the Suns can't give up a lot to get a player who can't shoot. This team already has too many players who can't shoot consistently.

Also they would not be able to afford to re-sign him.

Uh, Chap, we are talking about upgrading/fixing our starting FIVE, not our back up positions!!! The Suns have always found ways to find back up caliber players. We are talking about finding legit players for our two weak spots on the starting five. We rock at PG, SF, and PF. We get killed, game in and game out at C. SG is a streaky position for us. Some games we do fine, and other games it seems all the guys we have at that position can't throw a rock in the ocean. Just no consistency at SG. Sorry if we are a little preoccupied at fixing our starting rotation, I guess we should be focusing on getting those all important back up players! :D

To be contenders we do not need all stars at every position. We already have a chance for 3 perrenial all stars on this team, that is plenty. What we need, like Chap said, is depth. Someone to come off the bench and spell Marbury and Marion, I am pretty sure both of them were in the top 10 in MPG. JJ will be fine for a starting SG, and C is not going to improve this year unless they decide to do something in FA or trade. What we need is a back up 2 / 3 and a backup 1. Those are our 2 weakest backup positions.

I don't understand why you like Googs so much. I was very positive about him at this time last year, but now I have given up completely. I don't expect him to make ANY kind of significant contribution at all. He is our new Alton Ford.

So when discussing next year, I tend to ignore Googs, because, quite frankly, his contribution will be minimal at best.

I agree Chap. At this point anything Tom Gugliotta can give the Phoenix Suns is gravy. I don't think they're counting on him for much except to occupy a large part of the salary cap.

Sorry Chap, I was being sarcastic about Googs! Thus the smiley face! :D I think we will be screwed via the cap, unless a trade is made. I don't think that will happen because we are better off with who we have versus who we can get right now. I don't see any major changes next year, just hope Marbury and Marion keep up the good work, while hoping Amare, JJ, and Tsalkilides make some improvements to their play.

Unfortunately, I don't see any changes coming either. That's why I think the #17 pick is a good asset for us. This summer is very similar to last summer.
