As K9 said a few days, we now have a ton of young players and a bunch of extra 4th-7th rounders are diminishing in value for us. Monti would be a moron not to considering using them to improve the actual talent on this roster with the team sitting at .500 instead of hoarding magic beans that may turn out to be nothing.
I personally hope you’re right, because I’m not getting any younger lol. But, the manner in which MOJG took this team to its studs, and the manner in which they’re slowly rebuilding it, doesn’t make me think that we will pivot at this point from the original game plan. Historically Bidwill does enjoy when we have won, and the combination of where we stand today & the obvious lack of talent we have at certain critical positions, would make it seem a no brainer that we should be at least somewhat active before the trade deadline. I’m curious to see what happens.

I am 100 percent sure you are correct that we won't do anything.

I sure hope Monti doesn't think like this. The idea that you need a player to be picture perfect and zero risk before you would pull a trigger to get them is devoid of reality. That's exactly how you never get a good enough roster to compete. That's how you never sign a big FA and never trade for a good player and never become a championship team.

GMs too scared to risk anything don't win anything.
Do we really know how Monti thinks? He was hired to bring long term sustainable success to this organization. Something that’s NEVER been part of their curriculum. The next week is going to tell us a lot about what Monti’s game plan actually is.

It has more to do with if you think Monti is/will be constrained by Bidwill, which I do.

Here is my point of view.
I was not upset with our off season. We had so many young players and draft choices it wasn’t a bad idea to see who blossomed, who fell short and injuries.
HOWEVER, we are halfway into the season. We are .500 and in first place. We’ve sustained injuries within perhaps the weakest part of the team.
Adding a pass rusher will help this defense in more ways than one. We should not be looking at a rental player. It should be a guy that can be a part of this team going forward.
For god sake Monti, let go of a draft choice or 2 for some experience and ability. We already have enough young players that need to develop.

I understand that the Bidwill family cannot be trusted, but it was Monti who sold his path to sustained success to Michael. Not the other way around. I wouldn’t be surprised if we make a couple of moves & I wouldn’t be surprised if we stand pat & do nothing.
