Forte scares me more as a receiver than a runner. I think the Cards will also throw often to DJ as well. The Cards O-line will be stressed. The Jets have so much talent that they isolate offense linemen. That is each lineman must hold up on his own because there will be little help available. If the Cards are going to throw deep I'd like to see Nelson on the receiving end of those passes. The Cards will run and I think DJ will get near 100 yards. The Jets will use their new tight end if he's healthy. He's a tough match up. I saw him at Tampa and he has talent if he can keep the alcohol under control.

The Cards need to turn up the heat on Fitzpatrick. He is throwing a bunch of balls up for grabs. I think they can get the Jets to quit if the Cards get up early, don't turn it over and pressure the passer. The Jets seem to be looking for the exit!

Some amateur brother thinking his amateur opinions amount to poo and trying to start a column.

Bonus points for thinking replacing words with numbers in "What2Watch4" make him edgy or different.

Mitch Albom and Bob Ryan were not available to write columns on our message board.

I think Bowles is gonna turn up the gas on Palmer.

The key to this game is keeping guys away from Palmers legs & feet. He's & the Oline have really struggled this year when the defense gets pressure.

Come on Big Red do your job!!!

absolutely stuffed Laveon bell in the running game but he exploded on screens and dump offs.
Makes sense for the Cards to avoid running between the tackles and instead attack the perimeter with outside runs and (with the warning that Palmer not throw a blind pick 6) screens.

This plus a few chunk plays if and when CP gets the right matchups. Absence of D Harris should make it easier for our RBs to operate outside.

On defense, glue PP21 to Marshall & (with Decker out) & force Fitzpatrick to target lesser receiving threats.

Just a hunch, but - if the Jets flounder in the first half, this may be the perfect time for Bowles to make the change to Geno Smith.

so,...hows that running game looking tonight?

Um... pretty bad? One big run early, and less than 3 YPC the rest of the game? Even on the 58-yard TD run, it seemed like DJ had to scrape people off him in the backfield.

We out-rushed them, but David Johnson averaged 2.8 YPC up the middle last night. On D.J. Humphries side of the offense, the team rushed 3 times for 10 yards.

I like success rate as a metric, because it highlights the sustainability of your running game. Ours was bottled up much of the night.

I somewhat agree.... however with the exception of DJ's huge run early,...the success rate improved as the game went on...we wore them down...and that is what a running game should do... fairly certain neither AE nor Taylor would have had that same success in the first quarter.
