4 and 7.

Their only wins were over an ailing SA, and some bottom feeders: CHA, NY (though 6-5 is technically a winning record), and MIN.

Do they have a bunch of injuries I don't know about? Having trouble adjusting to Carlisle? Or just a tough early schedule?

they just dont have a dominant inside presence(center/forward).

there's damp, but he's only worth rebounds and a blocked shot here & there.
then there's dirk, but he's backing up fading away and shooting 3's.

The team's done, they should trade Nowitzki and get younger IMO.

they were better off before trading for Kidd. With Harris they had a bright young guard to start with. Now they have an overpaid former superstar who doesn't produce nearly as much as Harris. Trading Dirk at this point would be a little premature IMO, but it may be something they consider pretty soon

Diaw and Barbosa for Dirk man that would be a dream come true. If only we were the lakers and also had some crappy draft picks to throw in then we could EASILY pull it off (obviously with large emphasis on us being the lakers).

Nothing is ailing Dallas; they just suck.

When you have the NBA Finals in your grasp, up 2-0 and a double digit lead late in game 3 and choke the whole series away, then win 67 games the next season only to get punked by the #8 seed, that kinda messes with your head and sticks with you for a while. They could easily have had back-to-back titles, but instead have nothing. That's still going to take a few more years to recover from.

Plus they traded away the one guy who should have been the foundation to their future for an old guy way past his prime. See ya!

not to be an ***** or anything but other than the pistons game, the same can be said against us :)

our edge, though, is that we got bigs who take high percentage shots. other than good shooters, they have nothing, zip, nada...

Even though Dallas is finished now, I give them props for not becoming the San Antonio floppers. Passion of the Bruce almost made me quit watching basketball with his cheap shots.

Well they lost a game against Orlando after holding a nice lead in the 4th. They choked, whats new lol. Lost against an energetic young team in Chicago. Choked a nice lead to our Lakeshow in the 4th. I saw the Clipper game and it was closer than the boxscore indicates.

The loss to Cleveland was probably the only blowout

They could've easily been 7-4...choking leads in the 4th is your answer. They're either in striking distance in games they've trailed or choking decent leads.

You've nailed it. However, I can't help but think the Suns and Mavs are in a similar orbit with aging PGs although I like the Suns situation better.

IMO, trading Devin Harris and change (including two first round picks) was off the wall. Devin Harris was already as good as Kidd but much younger. I think the Mavs overreacted because the Lakers, Celtics and Suns were making changes.

Very true. I'm thinking Houston is better than Dallas and SA.

all things being equal, since neither team really has a shot at the title this year, I like any situation better where you have an owner desperate to win versus an owner who's desperate to make money.
