I believe it is almost imperative that we get a GM aboard as quickly as possible, and get his input on hiring a HC and Staff.

Perhaps the fact that we're scheduled to interview HC soon means one of two things:

a) we have someone lined up and ready to go (ie Keim)
b) we have no clue whatsoever what we're doing

then again, it could be:

c) all of the above

Vegas, baby, yeah!
GM. The offseason is the key period for the GM; you'll need a HC before too long, but there's a ton for the GM to do right now.

GM. I think that will be Keim though, so I'm guessing they have this one nailed down.

HC and then grab Norv for the OC spot, stat.

Then best OL coach available. Then get olineman plan in motion.

Gravy on the rest.

Ideally, you hire the right GM and then the GM is responsible for staffing up the FO and hiring the HC. The HC should hire the right coordinators and those coordinators hire the right position coaches.

Of course, there can and should be cross collaboration, but the idea is that each guy up and down the ladder hires the right guys below him/her and can then trust those guys to hire and delegate to the guys they're responsible for. It keeps the lines of authority and communications clean and should speed decision-making when time is critical.

Jurecki is saying that Keim wants to have an agent negotiate for him, but Bidwill refuses to negotiate with an agent.

:?

So our "expected" GM is at a cinflict with our owner and our other front office head in Jason Licht is being pursued by the Jaguars. Nice start Cards.

Keim fighting with the Bidwills seems better than all the others who kissed their butts. And if the Jags want him, maybe Licht is not good. :)

Jurecki hasn't explained (unless I missed it) what the objection to negotiating with an agent is. I can't think of one.
