The Cards have a pro bowl 10 year veteran at SS.
They have what is considered one of their best FA pickups ever at FS.
They have a guy who is considered a young talent with tons of upside at CB.
They have pro bowl player at the other CB.
They have a pro bowl player at ROLB.
They have a guy who has been a fixture at MLB 7 seasons.
They have a guy who has been a solid player for 3 years at LOLB
They have a pro bowl guy at LDT
They have a guy who is considered a young talent with tons of upside at RDT.

They have a high first round draft pick at LT
They have a pro bowl player at LG
They have a 3 year starter at C
They have a 4 year starter at RG
They have 2 1000 yard receivers
They have a first round RB combined with a solid "3rd Down back" for the perfect two RB NFL setup

They have a coaching staff that took the same guys that went 5-11 two years in a row to the SB and won 31 games in only 3 seasons beating some of the best the NFC had to offer.

How in the heck are they 3-7 and getting hammered every other game?

Is it attitude or is the QB situation simply that horrific?

1) Our QB's last name is "Anderson" instead of "Warner"

2) Our defensive coordinator should be 'coordinating' a pop warner team

3) The team has no confidence in themselves, their coaching staff, their QB, their schemes, etc.

And the rest involves a lot of underachieving talent and Cardinals fans everywhere getting sick to their stomachs on every sunday afternoon.

i thought we were going to have a good season this year and win the division. think about it. the seahags have a new coach and new staff and everything that goes with it. the 49ers are on a melt down and i think there coach isn't very good and the players aren't buying into what he is selling. the rams with a rookie QB (ya i know i know) and they were cellar dwellers last year. like i said i had very high hopes for us this season but a 3 and 7 record up to now just doesn't cut it. i think now we will end up 4 and 12 or 5 and 11 and no where close to winning the division. i see a lot of talk now about where we will pick in the draft :( i will say this though, i believe most of our problems comes down to not having a veteran QB. whiz bet the farm on DA and Max and he lost big time. oh the price we pay for being a cards fan. go cards......... :) PS there are major problems on the defense too.

There are many reason but be very sure the loss of Warner and the QBs we have now is the main reason this teams is a total failure. From first to last in one season as I see it. it can be fixed but do we have the management that will do what is necessary. Another season like this and you will start to see the flood gates open for the good guys on this team wanting out of here as soon as their contracts are up. We will morph back into the old Cardinals. This next season is a lot more important than this one at this point.

A friend pointed this out, today we had more yards, more first downs and more time of possession, and we had no picks or lost fumbles, and we lost and even the final score was misleading as we scored a meaningless TD at the end.

One obvious thing is we didn't make any big plays.

You watch the Eagles and all that speed and the 2 biggest plays of the game were a 50 yard TD run by McCoy and a 40 yard run later by McCoy.
It's been awhile since one of our guys did something like that.

Ironically on the first run Rolle guesses wrong thinks it's a QB keeper and dives over the pile as Vick pitches to McCoy who with no FS to worry about outruns everyone. On the 2nd long run McCoy breaks the LOS and has a one on one with.... Rolle, who misses the tackle giving him another 20 yards and nearly another TD run.

The Giants have finally figured Antron out, blitz him, move him around and do everything you can to not ask him to cover, exactly as we should be using AW.

Meanwhile during our first 4 plays Beanie runs like Michael Pittman and on the next play AGAIN nobody blocks an outside rusher.

Do these guys even practice or watch film?

It's still playmaking though, that drive ended because Doucet failed to make a play on what wasn't a great throw but certainly a catchable ball. If he catches it at worst it's a first down, at best it's a TD.

It was all downhill from there.

They have a QB who would probably struggle to be a #2 on most teams.
They refused to carry any sort of pro quality backup QB.
They have a washed up LG playing out his career.
They have a center who should have been replaced years ago.
They don't have a real tight end.
They have an OC, a running coordinator and a passing coordinator who don't seem to talk to each other.
They have a gigantic bust at LT.

They have a DC coordinator who's proving to be one of the worst in the league for a second time.
They thought two 33-year-old OLBs would be enough of a pass rush.
They have a 5'8" undrafted FA as a nickel back.
They play a 3-4 with a four LB's who are well past their prime.
Their two highest paid defensive players have combined for 4 sacks and 2 INTs.
They insist on starting a washed up NT who wasn't strong enough to play the position in his prime.
They have a SS who can't cover but is constantly asked to do so.

I could go on, but it's too depressing. This is a poorly constructed team. The results really shouldn't surprise us so much.

Well maybe if the Cards could do something consistently besides have DA heave the ball under pressure to one of the WRs they could sustain a drive, build some confidence and go up 7-0 or 14-0 for a change.

3 things to keep in mind:

1. NO ONE wins without a good QB. The really good teams have GREAT QB's

2. Football is an emotional game. The Cardinals are an emotionally exhausted team. There is NOTHING left in the tank. DA has drained the emotional tank.

3. The only way this team wins another game is if they bench DA. Let Hall or Skelton finish out the season. The team would play harder for either of these guys.

Mark my words, we don't win another game with DA under center.

Simple answer: This team does not believe that it can compete with the QB('s) they have.

Does anyone believe otherwise?

The Cardinals being bad is not new. Who signs the checks? The guy signing the checks apparently doesnt care if his team is always irrelevent. SF didnt like their QB situation so they went out during the season and got a new QB. Probably not the answer but they are spending money in trying to win.

Troy Smith didn't cost much at all. I see what you're saying by them trying, but Smith probably didn't cost any more than bringing in a 5th WR.

When you really think about it the results this team posts week in and week out is really what one would expect.

As everyone here knows the real problem is the QB. Now imagine you are the offensive line and you are asked to block for Scud. How much effort are yo going to put into it when you know deep down that Scud is probably going to misfire even if you give him all day to throw.

You as part of the OL know your strength is run blocking but you are being asked to pass block over 60% of the time even when you are running the ball well, how hard are you going to block?

As a WR you know you are putting life and limb on the line every time a pass play is called because your QB is going to place the ball in the least desirable location for you to catch and get hammered. How often are you going to stretch yourself out just to get laid out?

As a RB you know you are going to get only 10 carries at most because the idiot OC is calling so many pass plays even though you are rushing the ball at a 5+ yd average in the game. How hard are you going to run?

Bottom line is this team could be in a much better position right now if the coaching staff would have made some better decisions and placed players in better positions to succeed. This all falls back on Whiz and his clown staff.

Three things you need to win in the NFL:

A quarterback who will not lose games and win 2-3 by himself in a season
A pass rusher whom opposing defensive coordinators have to worry about
A left tackle who does not require much outside help.

When you lack all three, your team is in trouble. Not six-game losing streak trouble, but 5-11 trouble. The sad fact is that five years in, after winning with Denny Green's players, the Graves/Whisenhunt combo have failed to identify even one of these players, and haven't even bothered to develop more than a tackle.

The unusual part was being good, right now we're doing exactly as we've always done, we find new ways to suck.

Had we actually won the SB I think time may have stopped or something, we were that close to the end of the universe, I think.

I'm glad someone, for the love of all that is holy, finally got Graves's name in there on the usual suspects list.

Exactly, because we don't have any playmakers that make big plays. Fitz is great but less so with the QB situation, but we don't have a DeSean Jackson or McCoy to turn a short gain into a big TD. The only guy we have is Hyphen and he didn't play Sunday.

Our lack of speed on offense is stunning, especially when Breaston was out. Williams doesn't play anymore, Roberts is not slow but not exactly a burner(at least he's contributing though he had 2 more big drops).

We need a QB and better OL but we also need some speed on offense.
