Everyone wants someone on their team who can score 30 points a game yet when a player takes a lot of shots they are often called selfish and a me first player. Where do you draw the line between a selfish me first player who always wants the ball and a star who helps his team the best way he can?

That's easy.

If you like the player, he's a star that just wants to win.

If you don't like the player, he's selfish.

If that player wins his teams Championships he's not (MJ), but if he doesn't win any then he is (Iverson)! :D

I swear, you can jack up thirty shots a game, DEMAND the ball, but if you win it all, you have the will of a Champion!!! LOL! :D

I doubt that any of us will agree on what makes a guy a ball hog. Some of the things I would look at is:

a. Very high shots to assist ratio.

b. Gets high scoring average event though has a low shooting percentrage.

c. Shoots lots of three's even though he has a bad three point shot percentage.

d. Lot of dribbling that does not advance the ball.

e. Rarely makes a pass without first dribbling the ball.

Did I leave anything out?

whenever the player hurts the team more than he helps them by shooting the ball or dribbling it for too long, he is a ball a hog :)
