When I haven't heard him in a while for 1/2 the first quarter he's interesting...

And for the last 3 1/2 quarters I wish I was listening to the opposing teams broadcast.

Sometimes you play like a flat bloated circle other times you play like a sharp triangle

It would be boring broadcasting otherwise. I don't mind him. Kinda lightens the mood at times. You have to laugh at some of the ish he says.

Be careful what you wish for. The Chargers broadcast was horrendous. Ladanian Tomlinson did color and it was complete amateur hour

The lowlight of the evening for me was when they collectively commented on the "new" rule, whereby when a QB slides, they mark the ball where he started his slide, rather than where he winds up. Fellas, that rule is older than dirt! The new rule this year is about when a QB slides head-first, which is NOT how they presented it at all..

ball-spotted-first-touch-head-first-dives

When the average drunken fan knows something that the paid, professional announcers doesn't - that's embarrassing. Generally, I don't mind Pasch when he does TV, but I HATE his play-by-play when he does radio - he does a horrendous job describing the action, making it impossible to visualize what's going on. On TV, the announcer doesn't need to be as elaborate, so his same style works fine. Wolf is another matter altogether. He should be calling WWE contests.

This makes a lot of sense actually. Old school X's and O's. Defensive linemen are squares, linebackers are triangles, defensive backs are circles. Are you playing like a slow db or an attacking linebacker?

Wolf was clearly speaking to the guys in the crowd that have played ball. I had to think about it, but it gave me a chuckle for sure.

Yeah, I watched the local feed here in SoCal... Not only was LT horrible, but the picture looked like absolute crap.... I think it was shot in standard def.... Thought I was on a non HD channel until a commercial came on and looked perfectly HD.

Watched it later on NFL Network and it looked great, but had to listen to Wolf.

I actually liked the broadcast because even if Wolf' character irritates some, I appreciate how he gives credit to guys on the other team when credit is due unlike the unbearable broadcast of say a Cowboy homer network :)

Have never like Wolfley on Cards broadcasts. His voice is grating and the commentary even worse.

Pasch is ok but he is no Tom Dillon.

David and wolf are great. I know it's football when I hear wolf's banter. That's all I care about!

If every color guy was like Wolfley in football, or Bill Walton in college basketball, it would be intolerable. As it is, they are at least unique and they always make me laugh at some point.

IIRC one of our LBs just made a play. Wolf said he was more like a sharp triangle (attacking linebacker) than a bloated circle (slow DB).
