My guess it may be a while.... yesterday he once again loaded the bases in the 9th..

Anyone know what the oppenents OBP is against him?

It is seriously getting to be a problem.... So far this year he has 2 blown saves out of 3 possibilities.. Forget for a second that he has an ERA of 9... OPPONETS ARE BATTING .375 off this guy...

Yes he didn't give up a run, but it is the Papa Grande effect, When you struggle to get guys out and continue to load the bases, it will only be a matter of time before the guy implodes...

The question is how many blown saves will it take to get Qualls/Pena up there?

I know I sound like a broken record, but if doesnt put together a strong of good consecutive innings, he needs to go back to 8th Inning set-up man... IMO..

Thoughts?

The last three outs are the toughest.

If he doesn't improve in the next few weeks, a change will need to be made.

Tony Pena's WHIP is even higher than Lyon's, the way he's pitching right now doesn't exactly show that he'd be much of an upgrade right now. Its still early and there's still plenty of talent, we'll just have to wait and see how things start to mesh with the bullpen.

He is 2 for 4 in save chances, not 1 for 3... Still, he is playing with fire nearly every time out.

Max Scherzer!

We need to exercise the mound from the ghosts of such Diamondback great relievers as post 2001 Mantei, Valverde, Swindell, Olsen, Chouinard and many others
