Many would say tonight's game was their worst moment as a Cardinals fan. I'm no where near as upset tonight as I was driving home September 23rd, 2001 after we got obliteratted by the Broncos 38-17...maybe it was because of 9-11 and I really needed something to point to and say to my self "Hey, feel normal again!"

It was the only time I ever got close to crying (literally) over a loss...the entire drive on the 202 back to the house I was just going off about everything I saw wrong in the game...it was the closest I ever got to just writing off the Cards forever...

My wife (a Cowboys fan btw) snapped me out of it by simply asking "What did you expect?"

The worst thing about tonight is the fact that we all saw hope...

Oh well...GO CARDS!

Tommorrow, when I go back to work and have to listen to the prattlings of a bunch of people who don't know a damn thing about football chitter away about this game and how the Cardinals blew it (and that empty feeling of having no defense for the team, aside from hanging it on the Oline. Which I will).

Neil Odanahue missing that Field goal in 1984 is the one that sticks out for me...

The Del Greco fake field goal... That was a premenition of the Tards future in AZ.

It was amazing to hear 70-some thousand people all moan and say, "What?!?!?!" at the same time.

Know how long AZ **** fans have been saying that?

Seconds of hope here or there followed by minutes, hours, weeks, months, years, etc of disappointment and frustration.

Kind of like losing 4 straight Super Bowls?

One of these days I'm flying down to Nicaragua or Honduras to check out all those "Buffalo Bills-Super Bowl Champs" t-shirts and hats that were preprinted before each of their loses that he NFL gives away to third world countries as a tax write off...

when steve bono qb of the chiefs ran a 78 yard bootleg untouched for a touchdown. i think bono ran a 6.3 in the 40.

*sigh*

I was born in buffalo. I was a big bills fan till 2000/01 (still root for em though) (i moved to AZ in 94)

I remember crying after that 4th super bowl loss (hey, I was 7)

then there was the music city miracle...i remember just standing up and staring at the tv with a blank expression.

i think im gonna change my first worst cards moment. definately the 9-6 loss to the falcons a few years back.

It used to be the Bengals overcoming a 21-3 deficit in the '97 opener, now its last nights game.

The start to the 1998 season, when we were 0-2. I was in Bosnia, my supervisor was a dick, and I had nothing going for me, AND my team was in the crapper. That night was the only night I seriously considered changing teams. They weren't any good either, but I thought about changing to the Ravens, because of their coolness factor, but I had to stick it out. I had no choice. Well, I got a playoff win in Dallas out of the deal. I don't think I'll be as lucky after last night's fiasco.

Anyone remember the Tampa somerault? I don't remember the year exactly... 94ish??

The TB running back rolled over virtually the entire Cards D - that was piled up - and never touched the ground. Ran all the way to the endzone.

Bugel calling a run straight up the middle in the I formation on the Eagles 1 yard line, and getting stuffed every single time. 6 straight tries (due to an automatic first down call) and eventually turning it over on downs.

Rod Smith embarassed our secondary. It was a flat out disgrace CK.

not just every time - IT WAS EIGHT TIMES IN A ROW.

We went for it on fourth down from the one and there was a holding call on the Eagles giving us first and goal AGAIN at the one and then we proceeded to try and run up the middle FOUR MORE TIMES AND GOT STUFFED.

I love the Cardinals.

Not against us. We got blown out by the Packers 44-16 or something in the playoffs that shortened season.

the packers were not even the playoffs in the 80's. i pretty sure len dickey was the qb for the packers then. to my knowledge dickey never took the packers to the playoffs. i do remeber the butts(#60) blocked a fg to kick the cardinals out of the playoffs. that was in 82 or 83. whenever the strike season was.

Meadowlands - I think it was 1990. At this point, I was such a newbie to the Cards and still just a young kkid, so I was naive and didn't really understand who I was rooting for. Afterall, in my first year as a fan, we started 7-4 and I got to see the magical win over the Niners and the Giants and then Lomax went down and I figured, we'll get 'em next year.

then Lomax was gone forever and I still didn't really know what was going on with football and I can't remember any HORRIFIC losses in '89, but when thinkign about this today, I finally flashed on that moment of when my "first" worst moment as a Card fan was.

So - yeah, MEADOWLANDS - GIANTS - At the time, one of the best teams in the league, Super Bowl contender - we knock Sims out of the game and go up 19-10, late late in the fourth quarter - the Giants bring in the Hoss who throws a bomb TD with like 3 minutes left, the Cards can't get a first down, we punt the ball, give up a couple of 4th down plays, the Tuna orders the Stadium doors to be opened, the wind changes directions and blow a 50 yard FG thru the uprights as time expires.

20-19

devastated after that game - but everyone was so stoked that we made such progress - the nextt game was at home against the Bears - a sellout - lots of hype -we immediately go down 28-0 - classic - rally to make it 28-21 and then fall apart, losing 31-21.

the next week we went to Miami and scored 3 points and then I began to understand what team I rooted for.

also - Timm Rosenbach, coming off the greatest pre-season ever and a strong finish to his rookie year blowing out his knee the week before the season started and ending his career - that was a bad day also.
