Some people want to trade for draft picks and expiring contracts. Hahahahaha
Do this and watch Sarver tell Kerr to sell the picks for cash. And then sign veterans for league minimum and line his pockets. Our team will SUCK. and Sarver will profit more. So **** already about trading Amare.

We will not win a championship with this style but with J Rich two time slam dunk champion, Amare who slams harder than anyone, Speed and 3 pt shooting guard Barbosa, yet we are starting to look like we have no talent or ridiculous athleticism.

Send everyone to defensive training 101. No excuses. After watching the Spurs hold, push off, a bunch of illegal moving pricks that don't get called and be totally disruptive we will never compete unless we adapt on defense. They have titles we don't. What do they do that we don't. Dirty work. Not Bowen dirty, but the other things are what we lack. It doesn't take brains, more a lack of brains if the Spurs can do it.
Nash is the only one who is not athletic enough to play defense at his position. And he can almost make up for it against all but the elite guards.

If Porter can't get it done, well sooner the better, Liked him as a player but what the hell are we doing dumpiing the ball into Shaq 50% of the time?

Agreed. If a team is looking hard at adding a big man that can score 20+ per game,a good GM oughta know they don't grow on trees and have the ability to sell very high with a guy like Amare.

I don't think Amare should be traded at all for this reason alone. Good, young big men don't exactly fall out of the sky.

For those anxious to see him traded off, all I can say is I hope you don't get to the point where you know what you've got when he's gone.

I still think we should retain amare instead of trading him, it's our excessive expectations on him that makes him seem to be bad, he is not that bad in fact. Let's hold some patience and confidence on amar'e, at least he is way better than yao who was drafted 1st the same year amare was drafted.

Still waiting... I want to get excited about the team again. Getting blow out by the Warriors isn't quite doing it for me. Will trading Amare make this a championship caliper team again? It would depend on the returning pieces, and a lot of 'addition by subtraction'.

When you have a center that is playing as well as Shaq is playing right now, there is always a chance - just ask the 2005-2006 Miami Heat. It would take a bit of miraculous playoff seeding (Suns only face LA or SAS, not both), a hot handed Nash, and some great role play... hope runs eternal.

As long as Shaq is playing like he is now, i wouldnt mind trading STAT.
And i think the rumors out there are somewhat true, so expect a big trade after ASW :D

OK, so were are down to less than three full days, with 2 games mixed in. My feeling is the Suns want to see how Amare plays on Tuesday night. If he loafs it again, he will be gone. If he plays hard, then its a push until Wednesday night.

Problem is... the whole league will be watching for the same thing. Thus, any leverage the Suns have is minimized.

Does it matter when or if Amare is traded anymore? The season for us is in the crapper.

I still think he will get traded. This could just be another attempt to drive up the price for amar'e. This management was denying the porter trade two days before it happened and they haven't even taken amar'e off the trading block yet. How are you going to put amar'e on the trading block and then come back and say "yay you can be a sun some more because we couldn't get enough money to replace you but if this team doesn't do anything this year you are out of here again!" People talk about fans and players being loyal but how bout the management?

Amare had good scoring stats in the All Star game, although padded during garbage time.

Shaq had a good all around performance and teamed with Kobe to turn the tide and put the West in the lead for good.

As during the first part of the season, Amare was upstaged by Shaq.

Why would he want to stay? To be upstaged for the rest of the season? Or, if Shaq is traded, to go back to being an undersized Center?

What's best for Amare would be to play alongside a rebounding, defensive Center. Wherever that exists.

Or even perhaps as two medium-tower Power Forwards.

We had the chance for that -- Kevin Garnett and Amare. Thanks again, Shawn Marion.

I keep coming to the Suns forum waiting for the post that Amare has been traded... as soon as I see it isn't here, I generally head over to the AZ Cardinal Forum.

So, when is it going down? Don't try and convince me it's a bad idea to trade that unmotivated idiot. It's long overdue. The Suns need a solid 2-4 game stretch from #1 to get other teams to buy in... problem is, #1 is not very cooperative in that angle.

Get it Done already!

Keep going over to the cards forum, you may have to wait for the offseason.
