We know that there are quite a few players that are not going to be on the team (i.e. King, Thompson, etc.). Just wondering when Denny will start this process. Obviously on some he is looking for trades (i.e. Shelton). Getting rid of some could free up more cap space for other signings. Thoughts on this??

Any player from the Coach Mac era is game for a trade or cut. Turnover. I like it, but I don't think G & G would cut any player that would result in dead cap dollars.

I doubt that they will cut anyone prior to the draft who could potentially be part of a trade for picks and/or players. And, despite the assertions of many, this could include Clement and Thompson.

The only way I see any cuts at this time woould be because of cap space. I could see us cutting Clement if it meant we were able to sign Hartwell.

That being said , I think we are just about done in free agency, at least with any earth shattering signings.

Hartwell just ain't going to happen.

I think G&G are waiting until they know how the draft pan out until they start cutting players.

Players with big bonuses (Clement, Ray, Wendall & Pace) won't be cut until after June 1st. I doubt Pace actually will be cut - just pointing out that if it does happen, it'll happen after June 1st.

 I thought Kenny King was back in the mix now & part of the DL rotation

We have two "King's" on the roster... and no Queen's to the best of my knowledge...

This is being overdone, or at least needs to be clarified. Many players from the Mac regime are safe. The one's who bought into Denny's plan.

I agree with Slandirac16, at least in principle.

But I'd broaden it to simply state that - if Hartwell and the Cards were to meet halfway, and all that kept them from signing was a little bit more cap room, I could see the Cards making some personnel moves (whether Clement or others) to make this happen.

But, other than that, I don't think any members of the Cardinal roster are iron-clad "whackees" or "tradees" (even Shelton). We just have to see how this plays out.

I do not see us cutting Clemment. Trade yes but cut no. We would be idiots to cut Shelton.

Only 2 guys I see cutting immediately -- Wendell Bryant and Shaun King.

Clement, Thompson, and Shelton won't all be cut, plus they are worth something.

Shaun King released! Along with another WR I missed the name, but no one important.

I like the moves. Get rid of all the deadweights and move on. No more of this nice guy McGinnis stuff of keeping the mediocre players for 3 or 4 years and hope things change. I might actually want to come out for a game next season. (Im in southern Cal)
