over/under as to when he'll get flippin' mad for getting hit and charge the mound.

How do we make this a poll? Before 15sep, or after 15sep ...

It's admirable that he's been able to restrain himself so far. Seems like every game he gets beaned.

I'm sure he's raring to go, but he can't. Not with the threat of a 5+ game suspension. Our pitchers need to stick up for him, quite disappointed that nobody got a fastball in the back last night. I can almost guarantee you when we play the Rockies next week, that something will happen.

Giants series for sure.

I'd love to see him put a whooping on Tim Lincecum.

If we clinch the division fast enough, he might charge. Just can't risk getting suspended in the midst of a race and he definitely can't get suspended for the playoffs. Let's clinch in the next two weeks and then he throw down.

I'd have Miley just start plunking people. He's not going to be in a playoff rotation. We can afford losing him.

And Justin was hit again, to tie for the league lead. It was a pitch in the 80's. He laughed it off.

FWIW, hitting coach Don Baylor holds the all-time AL career record for HBPs. 267. Someone named Hughie Jennings owns the all-time ML career record with 287. I couldn't find a picture of him, so I picked a picture of what I think he looked like the day he retired.

Some other interesting HBP stats:

- In 1980, Pete Rose, Andre Dawson, and five other NLeaguers tied for the ML lead for HBPs ... with 6. It was the fewest HBPs count among HBP leaders in the modern era.

- In 1986, Don Baylor was hit a ML season record 36 times.

- In 1971 Sandy Alomar went 689 ABs without getting hit by a pitch, a ML season record.

- In 1906, Frank Chance was hit 5 times over two games in a double header.

I like the humor, but it's easy to find pictures of Hughie being a clown all over the Internets.

Here he appears to be working on his crane kick:

I have a question as I am not really a baseball fan.

Isn't it kind of an unwritten rule or code or something that if your best player gets beaned, your pitcher needs to bean their best player?

Guess that is what I thought, but not really sure.

Unless you were on the Dodgers when Don Drysdale was pitching.. He would hit the first guy up in the inning if one of his guys got beaned.... And LOOK OUT if the guy before your at bat was admiring a home run for too long.... You get it "right between the numbers" ... LOL

I was just curious, so I scoped it out... The most Barry Bonds was ever hit in a season was 10.
