I don't know if he's declared but I'm sure he will. To me, this is the kind of player we could really use.

Where in the draft do you see him going? Top 5? Top 10? What kind of shot do we have at him? If he is there, I'd pull the trigger no doubt.

I'm not familiar with him. Where's the info on him?

Junior CB from Arizona. Stud.

A guy I think will rocket up the draft boards.

Isn't Leon Hall rated higher? I thought we was by far the #1 CB coming out this year?

Cason isn't really rated yet...all this will shake out after the combine. I'd much rather have Cason than Hall, however.

Hall, much like Rolle, has been projected to be more of a FS type. He's not your typical shutdown corner like Champ Bailey. Cason could potentially be that shutdown corner because of his size, speed and playmaking ability. I don't want another Antrel, so my vote would be for Cason.

I think I'd rather take a CB top-10 than a T, but I haven't looked into any of them, yet.

We definately do not need another big, physical corner. Both Rolle and Green fit into that category.

This week's nominees are:

Good size and athleticism make Antoine Cason a dangerous player.

1) Arizona defensive back Antoine Cason made the game-changing play in the Wildcats' 24-20 upset over eighth-ranked Cal. The 6-foot, 182-pound corner broke sharply on an out route and took the pick six 39 yards to the house. Cason is a natural playmaker on defense with the size to guard against larger receivers. His long arms allow him to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage using press technique. He is a sound, reliable tackler but excels in pass defense. He shows great instincts and anticipation when the ball is in the air. He is a fluid athlete that moves well in and out of his breaks. He has the second gear to match up with top receivers in man-to-man coverage. His ability to read the quarterback and close is remarkable. Cason plays with the confidence and flair needed to excel as a pure cover corner.

Not a ton on him out there yet, but I'll keep digging stuff up.

I know the U of A really well, and Cason reminds me of Trufant. Good size, good speed, and great instincts. I can't say enough for his football IQ. He isn't a burner, but is much more fluid than Rolle. He's also a good tackler, but not as good as Rolle.

Its not fair to say he's not a shut down corner like Bailey, because Bailey is at a whole different level compared to everyone else.

On average CB - Darelle Revis of Pitt just may be the current #1 Rated CB going into the offseason.

Then Hall, Then Cason or McCauley.

All 4 look to be headed for being picked in the first round.

There are also 2 Good FS that could both be picked before #15 as well in Laron Landry and Reggie Nelson.

Reggie Nelson is a stud! He is so fast and can make some nasty hits. If we're sitting around #10 I would definitly take him.

Not to many people know the name...Antoine Cason out of the University of Arizona, but the 6'0 190 lb CB has the NFL on notice. Cason, out of Los Alamitos (near Long Beach) CA, has all the tools the NFL looks for out of a CB...size, speed (4.39 forty) jumping ability (40 inch) a willingness to hit and an even stronger desire to learn. Did I mention he also has the bloodline?!! His Dad, Wendell Cason, played at Oregon, and for the Falcons form 1984-87, and his cousins are Ken-Yon Rambo (NYJ) and Avieon Cason (Dallas). His brother ran track at Washington St.

Cason is one of the top defensive backs in the PAC-10, not to mention the nation. He has started all 22 games and played every snap his first two years. He received second-team All-PAC-10 honors in 2005, when he finished with three interceptions, five passes defensed and 50 tackles including 2.5 for losses. Normally plays the strong side of the field, Cason has seven career interceptions coming into the 2006 season, and those 7 picks puts him in position to rate with UA’s best ever on the all-time chart, with five more needed to his the top nine. He had a season-long 27-yard interception return against Oregon. Cason had seven tackles three times last season. He started 11 games as a true freshman in 2004, earning All-PAC-10 honorable mention. Cason was selected to the FWAA and Sporting News freshman All-America teams ... TSN’s All-PAC-10 freshman team selection and PAC-10 defensive freshman of the year honors. Cason was also selected to Rivals.com freshman All-America club. He finished the season 70 tackles (54 solo), 5.5 tackles for loss (-18 yards), four interceptions, six pass breakups and three forced fumbles. Cason was the second-leading tackler on the squad, while ranking fifth in the PAC-10 in interceptions, 20th in tackles, fifth in forced fumbles and ninth in passes defended. He tallied 12 tackles (8 solo) and forced a fumble vs. ASU. Cason also returned an interception 23 yards, had nine tackles (7 solo), two pass breakups and two tackles for a loss (-8 yards) at Washington. Cason also returned two interceptions for a total of 61 yards and tallied five solo tackles vs. California. He was named PAC-10 Defensive Player of the Week after first collegiate game: tallied a career-high 13 tackles (12 solo), including one for a loss, forced two fumbles, broke up one pass and returned an interception four yards vs. NAU.

I can't say enough for his football IQ.

Other than his tangibles and what I have seen of him in highlights and some game viewings, the quote above is something I hear repeated over and over again about the kid. He understands the game...I think after the combine he will be high on the draft list...and I would love to have him come here.

I still don't get how to use
Code:

not bad, but it appears that you are using code from NFLdraftblitz, and they require a login. Everyone is getting a login window when they clickk on the 2nd page of this thread.

Draft Scout Antoine Cason News
11/25/06 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: CB Antoine Cason - After being named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week two times in a row, Oregon did not look his way once last week. They never challenged him. Arizona State does not have much of a passing attack at the moment, which means he may be bored for a second straight week.

I really like him as a player

Reminds me of McAllister in that he seems to have great ball awareness when he plays
