Where does this leave Shawn Marion and JJ?

Lets us suppose for a second that the Phoenix Suns are unable to make this deal with Tracy McGrady happen. Where does that leave Shawn Marion and JJ with his team? Supposedly Shawn Marion was very upset when the rumors of a trade involving him for Tracy McGrady first started coming out. How is he going to feel about this team now? I mean it's debatable whether the Phoenix Suns will include JJ in a trade, but Shawn Marion is clearly in the mix.

I just hope if/when this falls through they bring in Shawn Marion and talk to him like the manner about this. I'm not sure if it will work to get rid of any ill feelings, but I don't want to watch Marion sulk around the court on next year because he has had his feelings hurt. The same goes for JJ. I think that if these players are back with the team next year and expected to actually be part of the team's future there will be some work to do.

Shawn Marion and Joe Johnson are grown men making millions of dollars.

When you have an opportunity to aquire the best (or 2nd best) SG/SF, you just have to go for it. If the two babies get their feelings hurt, it's too damn bad. Marion needs to get over himself.

I would worry more about Joe Johnson than I would about Shawn Marion, but JJ has much less to be offended about--he's the player who apparently isn't being offered by the Suns.

Steve Francis would be a much bigger question mark if he went back to the Rockets IMO. Would he sulk, or would his attitude actually improve for a couple of years like Iverson's did?

It is not the Suns fault that JJ keeps getting mentioned. They keep denying it as Caro confirmed in today's article (see other thread). My guess is that it is the Magic that keep him in play. Far from being insulted, JJ should be thrilled that the Magic are so hot to get him and the Suns are so adament about not letting him go.

Shawn is another story, but he is a lot older and more used to the world of the NBA. He may not like it, but this is price of signing a big contract.

Besides, the Suns would of course offer Johnson instead of Marion -- it's just that there's no way Orlando would be interested.
