I think he's more likely to play out the year in Miami. What team can give or want to give Miami anything in return for that large of a salary?

Just say no to Butler. It's one thing to go all in with Durant, Beal and Booker. It's another thing to dangle your team off the proverbial cliff by getting Bulter and having so much money and age wrapped up in two guys over 35 years old. Plus, Butler's attitude can change on a dime.

I think they should just try and move Nurk, possibly Royce to get another couple pieces in here and see what happens. If not? Blow the entire thing up.

One of the things I think the Suns may be OK with Butler flaking out and wanting to leave Phoenix, is it would help cut their salary worst case scenario if he left.

I don’t think they’d be okay with trading a 1st round pick and likely Dunn for a two month Butler rental.

Gambo keeps saying they won't trade that pick. I saw on a podcast explain that Beal and KD would likely be gone by then. Booker would be an aging star himself. The Suns view that pick as essential to rebuild. Supposedly, without quoting anyone on the Suns directly, that is their thinking, if you trust podcasts.

Dunn is off limits in my book. And for the Suns too if they know what's good for them.
I don’t think this team has a clue what’s good for them. The fact that we’re even considering any Jimmy trade, and the likely extensions to Jimmy and KD that would come with them proves that to me.

Don't worry. Miami is not taking us seriously. No way they want to take on Beal's contract. They aren't extending Jimmy. They value getting out of the apron most of all.

.
And a 79 year old Pat Riley couldn’t care less about a 2031 draft pick. Beal was a swing and miss for the ages and we have to live with it.

If Pat Riley only cares what the team does while he is alive, he needs to be fired immediately. I for one don't think any GM thinks like that - they have a duty to do what is best for the organization not themselves.

Beal is not as big a disaster as you make him out to be. We gave up very little for him - it's his salary putting us over the 2nd apron that is the problem. If we were still 20 million under the cap nobody would be complaining about the deal.

If Butler REALLY wants to be traded, he shouldn't tell Riley he won't resign with them. He needs to tell Riley he's picking up that HUGE player option next year!
