I think they could fight with dallas for the 8th spot. I thought before getting Beasley and scola no chance at the playoffs but i think they will be fun to watch with Beasley, scola, Gortat, Dragic and Telfair.

Dallas is somewhat retooled i dont think theyll be that bad. I think Suns will finish somewhere with Golden State, Minnesota, New Orleans, and those guys. Probably in the 8-12th range id say.

Beasley will have to average 23 a game if the Suns will have a good shot at 6th-8th place.

14th out of 15. Only Sacramento will be lower than the Suns.

So many unknowns - they could be a disaster or the team might surprisingly gel. I'd say 30 wins is most likely but 15 or 45 are possible. If I had my druthers, Morris and Marshall would get as many minutes as they could tolerate at the expense of a few extra losses - but no one in the Suns organization seems to be thinking like that.

I'm of the mind where there's no focus or vision for the roster, it almost doesn't matter how much talent you acquire. Who's got the ball with a game on the line? Who does one dominant thing that helps others define their roles?

I guess Dragic is the man, now, and that should tell you everything you would want to know about this team. IMO. Guessing 10th or 11th in the WC.

This team is going to be bad. They are going to struggle offensively in the half court. They are going to struggle to stop anybody. They'll struggle to get rebounds. If they finish with better than the 25th worst record Alvin Gentry should win Coach of the year. Unfortunately I'm sure even if he does a miraculous job the team will offer him something insulting and we will have a coach that isn't half as good by next season. We will probably also draft the most unathletic player available next summer.

I'm hoping that by setting expectations low I am pleasantly surprised... but not to pleasantly surprised. I still like to draft high.

ME: Are you looking forward to the Suns this year?

MY CRAZY SUNS FAN FRIEND: I can't wait for next year's draft day to find out which point guard will be our future! Again!

Frye will miss the entire season and then the front office will trot him out next summer, saying, "This is our first-round draft pick right here."

The Suns record over the last eight seasons without Nash is something like 10-25. The last Suns team that did not have Nash for a whole season went 29-53. That team featured two All-Stars (Marbury, Marion) and two future All-Stars (JJ, Stoudemire) before Marbury was traded and Amare was injured. We currently have no one even close to that talent level on our team.

This could end up being a historic season for the Suns. They have not lost 60 games in a single season since their inaugural season. Of course it is possible the team will somehow overachieve, take everyone buy surprise, and muster 42 or so wins for a final playoff spot. It's possible. Just not very likely, imo.

The Suns will probably finish around 12th in the West, but could move up a couple spots if some other teams struggle.

I doubt we'll be competing for a playoff spot. I think 10-11 sounds about right. Maybe we'll be in the run if Dragic, Beasley and Gortat should click, and Scola and Duds have solid years.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing a "new" Suns team this year. Going to root for the guys and watch for any individual and team improvement. If all goes straight to hell we'll get a chance to draft a cornerstone next summer.

It will be fun watching the new guys gel. Having said that an 8th seed would be a disaster. We need the team lose big early and come together at the end of the season to insure a high pick and momentum into next season.

I hope the suns don't screw this up.
