No more Dragic, we are a playoff team and we need a competent backup. Pargo is still out there, and others like Damon Stoudamire have been mentioned. We need someone..

And since my other two threads recently turned out true
Start Grant Hill
Bell Tolls for Raja

Hopefully this one comes true as well.

Marbury would be the best bet.

Anyway Nash is getting old fast, we will soon need someone who can be our PG of the future although with Jrich here that is less of a concern now as long as he can play defense and make open shots we don't have to have a great playmaker because Amare and JRich can make plays.

Pargo or Jason Williams. I am afraid Marbury would be a cancer, and there are not enough balls on the court to keep JRich, Marbury, Shaq, and Amare all interested.

Dragic has fallen of the face of the earth. I cannot believe they have given up on him this soon.

Completely agree. He was a good backup in LA last week, then suddenly he doesn't get time for two straight games. Porter is no different than D'Antoni in this regard.

Don't be so quick to make up ur mind. Raja Bell requested to be traded about 2 weeks ago, then we lost 4 in a row, then we have J.Rich here. We were under pressure to win games, and incorporate J.Rich, we just didn't have the luxury to try rookies.

Be paitient, I think it will take about 10 games for the new core to get rolling, then we'll see more Lopez and Dragic.

Just a hypothetical. Would you trade LB for a first and then use his money to sign Pargo?

NO, I dont want to get rid of LB if the suns are trying to win this year. LB is going to get better this year with JRich, and Barnes around, just because he wont get as much attention, defensively. If they want to tear it down and rebuild, that would be fine with me. Next years draft looks really weak I hear. pargo is a pretty quick defender, and a serious streak shooter. He certainly would help in the spacing when nash is out.

That's a tough one. Barbosa has really improved recently, and he could be vital to this team's success.

On the other hand, a back up shooting guard is easier to find for vet minimum than a point guard. Additionally, Barnes/Hill/JRich provide a decent coverage as far as SG/SF positions go, so Barbosa may not be as important as a good back up point guard.

My guess though is that Suns will end up with Stoudamire or Williams, which is ok with me. I'd rather have Pargo or Marbury, but Williams or Stoudamire would be fine.

I was actually dreaming up a scenario where we move LB for a draft pick (possibly washington) sign Pargo to the a 2 year contract similar to the LLE, and grab RICKY RUBIO next summer and be set with our continuance of elite point guards. Pargo can run the team until Rubio is up to speed and Dragic can focus on fermenting his testicular fortitude.

Ricky Rubio is a pipedream indeed. I think he's overrated as well so I'm not interested as much. He doesn't have much athletic ability or speed. He can pass but I think he'll get used and abused by the big guards in this league.

Jason Williams would be a good fit in this run and gun offense.

The way I looked at it, Pargo would not only fill the backup PG position now but he would be able to shoot the ball like a good SG. I'm a huge LB fan but I see Pargo playing much the same role except except he is a legit PG. Also the Suns might easily seek a draft pick in 2010 since the Suns already have theirs in 2009.

Certainly I would prefer to get a legit PG without giving up LB, but I was just wondering how fans feel if push comes to shove. I can see the Suns easily filling the SG spot with Richardson and Barnes. Maybe the new kid on the block (Dudley) could backup Hill. Anyway just thinking out loud.

Stephon Marbury actually bought a ticket to the Laker/Knick game last night. But there was a more interesting piece in the article.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3775717

Stephon Marbury, banished from the New York Knicks, was found Tuesday night in Los Angeles -- watching the Knicks.

Marbury, in town to attend to his residence there and conduct some business, bought a ticket for the Knicks-Lakers game and had a baseline, courtside seat near film director Spike Lee.

According to the reports in the New York media, Marbury did more talking on his cell phone than he did observing the game, which the Lakers won 116-114.

At halftime, Marbury spoke with a group of reporters. Knicks players rolled their eyes at the notion that he was there, and one team official told the New York Daily News: "This is exactly why we sent him away in the first place."

"I didn't create this, this is all their doing," Marbury said of his status as a nonplayer with the Knicks despite being under contract for more than $21 million. "I'm still earning my check by doing nothing. I'm staying in shape. My mindset is to enjoy my life."

Team president Donnie Walsh suspended Marbury for one game without pay and docked him an additional game's salary after the Knicks said Marbury refused coach Mike D'Antoni's request to play in Detroit on Nov. 26 -- Marbury's second refusal in as many weeks.

Walsh and Marbury subsequently met to discuss buyout options, but Marbury didn't like what he heard, and walked out of the meeting in less than half an hour. Walsh directed Marbury not to attend Knicks practices or games while the sides continued to work toward a buyout.

D'Antoni said Tuesday night that Marbury's presence was not a violation of Walsh's directive.

Stephon Marbury was just a paying fan -- albeit with a really great seat -- at Staples Center.

"That's fine," D'Antoni said. "About 19,000 people are going to be there tonight, so if he wants to see a good game, that's great."

Marbury, who said he was working out and training in Los Angeles, said another team already has expressed interest in his services should he and the Knicks reach an agreement for his exit.

"All I've got to do is get free," Marbury said. "Once I get free, the team I'm going to go to, I think a lot of people will be shocked."

At the same time, Marbury did not show any impatience at the lack of progress in negotiations. According to Newsday, Marbury said he told Hal Biagas, his NBA players' association representative during the Knicks buyout talks, to not "even worry about it."

"Let them do what they're going to do and make a decision when they're ready to make a decision," Marbury said, according to Newsday.

Forward Quentin Richardson, who was one of the first Knicks to criticize Marbury on the record, did not seem perturbed by Marbury's unexpected and surreal presence at the game.

"Am I surprised or puzzled? I don't really think much about it, man," Richardson said, according to The New York Times. "My thing is, we were here playing the Lakers. I guess he was a face in the crowd. I didn't know he was there.

"I hope he enjoyed it," he added. "It was a good game."

It's GOTTA be the Suns.

Why does it have to be the Suns? And why would anyone be "shocked." Maybe its going to be some team in Italy I hope. I don't want to deal with Stephon.
