Nope, never...while all three of those backs have had 1,000 yard seasons, they haven't done it at the same time.

The only 1,000 single-season tandems:

1972 Dolphins
Larry Csonka, 1,117 yards, 6 TD
Mercury Morris, 1,000 yards, 12 TD

1976 Steelers
Franco Harris, 1,148 yards, 14 TD
Rocky Bleier, 1,036 yards, 5 TD

1985 Browns
Kevin Mack, 1,104 yards, 7 TD
Earnest Byner, 1,002, 8 TD

Could it be in the cards for The Cards?

...uummm...Beavis, the USFL wasn't around in 88 or 89. It folded after the 85 season...

anyways, I think there were 3 teams that had 2 ea 1000 yards rushers in a season. I'm pretty sure it was 84.

NJ Generals had Herschell Walker & Maurice Carthon
Az Wranglers had Tim Spencer & Kevin Long
Tampa Bay Bandits had Greg Boone & Gary Anderson

Quit clouding the issue with facts.

You're right about the year Section 11. In 1972, Larry Csonka had 1,117 yards and Mercury Morris had an even 1,000 yards. Jim Kiick never had a 1,000 yard rushing season for Miami.

If I remember correctly, on the last play of the season Morris lost 1 yard, but somehow he was given credit for 1000. Can anyone help?

T. Metcaf & J. Otis

I thought the Cardinals duo of T. Metcaf and J. Otis were the last running backs to rush for 1000 yards in the same season. :D
